I am a creative type so I like to do research and try to make toys and repurpose items for my critters (within reason). It's been a process of trial and error and sometimes I do something and dig a little deeper in my research and find out that thing isn't actually safe such as string that isn't untreated sisal rope. This said, I know I'm not the only one who has made things for my rabbit and although Pinterest is a great resource I thought it'd be nice to hear from some of you.

What are some of the things you have made or repurposed for your rabbit(s)?

Side note, sometimes I just fill random boxes and things with hay and Artemis has a blast with that. I remove any plastic that was previously there before giving it to him. One of the photos has hay with string on either side. That was one of the first toys I made. I always watched him with it and even though I didn't use sisal rope then, upon doing research I have since changed what I use. Thankfully he didn't care about the string I had on it, but I do not risk that anymore.

I want to make sure you know that glue is not safe for rabbits. In the second picture, it looks like you made a ramp
(which looks amazing) out of string and cardboard, but you used glue to attach the string and that is not safe. I might be totally wrong, but just checking. Better safe than sorry you know?

I have made lots of toys for Theo, all of which have now been destroyed 😂 I like making toys out of 100% cardboard and hay, so no string or glue. Here are a few I have made:

I love these toys!
You are correct. I specifically used hot glue. I was thinking of attempting to make an agility course for him just for fun and this ramp was the first thing I had made specifically with that in mind. I will keep it out of his reach when he is just playing. I promise that's the only thing I have used glue on, and I definitely won't use any more in the future. If you don't think just having it around for that with those parameters in mind, I am definitely willing to get rid of it and rethink my ramp design.
