Hi guys! I haven't posted in a long time now!
I had my blue Lionhead doe give birth to two beautiful double manned kits!
She has been bred to a double manned cream buck

The thing is I am still trying to figure out the colour of those kits! lol
I am thinking maybe they are shaded! It's both parents first litter and I don't know if they carry the shaded gene but it could be really possible!

If I look closely I see that the paws and ears are a bit darker than the rest of the body

Here's a picture few hours from birth, and a picture at two days old, one at 9 days old and one of the lighter coloured one from yesterday (12 days old)

Thank you in advance for your help!

Congratulations on your adorable babies! And kudos to mom for having a successful first litter...

The darker colored one looks like a blue and the lighter one is most likey a lilac 🖤

Thank you for the reply! I also think they look blue and lilac but if you look at the first picture (day of birth) they don't look like selfs! More shaded or something

Lilacs do look extremely light in color when they are born, and darken with age. However, your babies don't look shaded to me (I'm used to torts though, not points or pearls). Fur on the head and lionhead "skirt" grow in last, so maybe wait until they are 3 weeks old to accurately determine coloring. It will get easier with age!

Could you please provide a picture of the lighter ones belly? Smoke pearl is possible, but not sure how genetically realistic that is considering the bucks color...

Do either of the parents have a pedigree, or do you know any background on their coloring? That could also really help.

The lighter coloured one's belly is about the same colour, maybe a little lighter but not much, than the rest of the body
The parents are Purebred but I don't have the Pedigrees...
I will wait and see, it is true that I've been thinking about Lilac for the lighter one so she might be :)
Time will tell for sure :)

That narrows it down a bit - it most likely is not a shaded because the belly would be a darker tone. I'm pretty confident it's a lilac. Please update with some pictures once they are around 3 weeks to confirm, though!

You can't tell it's not a shaded by the belly color. Shadeds (true shadeds, not torts) are a solid silvery color overall when they're young before they get their shading. Plus, as these are lionheads the bellies are often lighter along with the sides where the mane will come in. It could be a lilac. Could be a smoke pearl. Could even be a lilac sable or some combination of the two. We should wait until they're older before seeing. Please keep us updated.

Here's a picture of a smoke pearl I bred for comparison (the lighter one in both pictures)

True, but it is less likely given the parents colorings. A cream is a dilute like lilac, and blue and lilac go hand in hand. This is why I strongly think the coloring is not a shaded, but we should wait and see to know 100%!

Hi guys, so sorry I didn't update last week! I've been so busy I completely forgot!
So here's a couple pictures of her.
She is now 4 weeks old.
You can't see it as well on the pictures, but her ends (ears, nose, paws...) are darker in color, but I'll let let you guys tell me what you think!

It looks like a ball of fluff to me ;)
In the first new picture it looks more smoke pearl (with having darker extremities). In the second picture it looks a bit more lilac (with having a pinkish tinge on the nose). Wool breeds especially are something that is easier to tell in person than in pictures.

Smoke pearl is also a dilute - both of them are just one mutation away from blue (lilac = blue + chocolate, smoke pearl = blue + shaded). There is also lilac sable, blue + chocolate + shaded, but that would be less likely genetically.
