california,
We adopted a lab-rescued rabbit recently. At the beginning, we didnot pay too much attention to the rabbit ear. Most recently, we suddenly identified a big lump (please see the picture below, red circled) on her left ear inner side. It felt like a airbag, dry , same color of skin as the rest of the inner ear. Her ear is clean from my observation ( please see the picture below). When we touch it, she felt itchy and will scratch. Other time, she doesnot seem care about it. Do you have similar experience? what should we do with it? Really appreciate all your suggestions.

It's called an aural hematoma, a pocket of blood/fluid in the ear where a separation of the skin has occurred. It's possible the fluid may reabsorb on it's own and the ear return to normal, but in some instances it needs to be surgically drained and sutured by an experienced rabbit vet. Best thing would be to discuss with your vet, whether to wait to see if it will heal on it's own or if surgery is needed.
