Hazel making nest

We've had Hazel since November 1/18 she is over 2yrs . We adopted her for my wife. We just adopted a baby girl age is 4 months. They both get along well. Hazel this morning started to make a nest in our closet. Taking timathy & what ever else she could take in her mouth. She has built a great nest. She also took a stuffed bunny off our bed and put it by the nest. She isn't fixed & we don't plan on doing that to her. Why has she built a nest ?? Is it for the baby ?? No males have been in our house. Should we just leave the nest ?Thanks for the replies wife is very worried.

Are you guys 100% sure the new girl is actually a girl? Around her age, if she's actually a male, you will begin to see testicles appear (if they haven't already). If you are fully positive they're both girls, it could be a false pregnancy. If it's false, spaying will prevent this from happening again as its not too good on the bunny. Is there any reason you don't want her spayed? My best advice at this point would be to treat her like she's pregnant unless you are sure they're both female.

If she is nesting, she could be having a false pregnancy. It is natural for unfixed rabbits to nest. It could just be hormones!

Both are girls Hazel has been to a vet for a full check up in December. Be fore we left the store we got the baby checked it's also a girl. Next is doctor for a full check up also for Lily. They both have the whole house to run around. Never locked in there cages crazy as that sounds .

Just FYI female rabbits who are not spayed by the age of 3 have an 80% chance of developing uterine cancer and the risk increases as they age.
