Hard lump on bunnies mouth

I've taken my Netherland dwarf bunny to the vet but he is unsure why and what the lump on his mouth is. He said it's definitely not his teeth but my bunny is poorly at the moment and I wondered if anyone has had this with their bunnies before? I've included some pictures but as you can see by the last one, he doesn't seem to be bothered by them but that doesn't stop me worrying though.

With sores/lumps around the mouth/face like that, most likely causes are rabbit syphilis or nodular myxomatosis.

If this could at all be nodular myxo especially, I would strongly urge going to a very experienced rabbit vet or specialist. Even with vaccinated rabbits sometimes, it can be very serious and could possibly be fatal in some instances. Mark Rowland is an experienced rabbit vet that I've read of being recommended by other rabbit owners, that is somewhat near your location. He used to be in Maidstone, but is now in Surrey I believe, if that isn't too far. Or there may be another nearer to you. If that's not possible for you to go to a different vet, you could request your current vet consult with a rabbit specialist(eg. Molly Varga, John Chitty, etc).

Thank you for your reply, the vets we are with are rabbit specialists but they have already ruled out moxy thankfully but they also do not think it's syphilis. They want to monitor it as giving antibiotics could make him even more ill and they believe it's because he is ill from being fed sweetcorn all his life until we rescued him. The only other thing is to put him under general and take a proper look but they want to wait first. I'm just curious and worried about waiting and the poor little boy has had such a horrid time with the blockage and possible Hemorrhoids or prolapsed rectum from straining. The popcorn finally came out after the vet put him on bio water so he should start healing.

As far as I've read, that's only found in the US.

If he was on a poor diet previously, maybe it's related to a nutrient deficiency. Hopefully your vet will get it sorted out soon.

Aw poor boy, he's lucky you have him now. Have you heard of cheilitis? I think it's more common in guinea pigs but it looks similar?
