I had my first litter of gerbils this morning. Even watched the last one being born.
Six wriggly jelly beans in the nest:biggrin2: Will post pictures tomorrow.

I must check what their eyes are like tomorrow. I am hoping for loads of ruby eyed ones like the mom. Apparently it is visible even with them closed.

Oh excitement Sabine, alot going on in your world. Hope they stay healthy.
 
Unfortunately too busy to take pictures but had one baby out today and it was dark eyed. Mom is looking after them really well

These are not my babies but a video the breeder of Flick (the mom) took. Flick is the one in the middle.
 
Unfortunately of the seven born only one is with us now (day 12). He's black like his dad and probably a little boy. Flick is going to have one more litter as I left Harvey with her to help raise the first lot. Everything going well he'll move out with the little one as a companion before Flick gives birth again
