Something like that, I'm sure everyone's seen it. Would you recommend one for a rabbit? My rabbits drink crazy amounts of water per day, maybe it's normal? LOL, but they have 2 water bowls, each bowl contains nearly 1 bottle of water (like your regular ozarka water bottle - the average sized bottles) and it is usually all gone within 2-3 hours, especially when I wake up the bowls are DRY. I know this can't be good at all. I was talking to my mom about it, and she's worried bacteria will accumulate in the jug since it's hard/ near impossible to wash it properly. Is this true? Am I better off just buying much bigger water bowls instead of that gallon jug thing?

I can see it being fine. I'd just watch to make sure your rabbit is spilling water all over or soaking itself and getting sick. Other than that, I think you're onto a good idea :D

I think Imbrium uses something like that. I've found that water bottles tend to have less bacteria problems than water dishes. You will probably have to clean out the dish portion more often than the bottle. You can buy bottle brushes to clean out bottles with.

Thanks! Usually fur and other items wind up in the water bowls so I do clean them out often as it is. I think I'm going to purchase one for my rabbits tomorrow! Thank you!

I have a half gallon waterer that I use and I love it. A nice fresh supply of water that lasts for a few days. Every time I change the water I clean it out.

I would skip the petco one and go for the walmart brand - they're 1/3 the price and work just as well!

it comes in two sizes - 3L and 1.5L

also, the petco one looks hard to wash thoroughly... the walmart ones, the whole base of the water container comes off so they're easy to clean. I wash it out once a day and refill it. they can be safely run through the dishwasher once a week or so as well, just to make sure they stay sanitary.

Oh yeah I love mine. I'm glad I made the switch from a regular bowl. A regular bowl I had to refill too many times with two bunnies. And that way they don't run out while I'm sleeping.

yup, you can actually get in there to scrub instead of having the dumb bottleneck preventing you from getting at all the parts of the reservoir easily :D
