First Bout=Bamboozled

Well.. it was a fantastic learning experience at the very least, showed us exactly what we needed to work on before we face Houston..

We were told they were gonna send us their Fresh Meat and a few vets so we would be evenly matched, they sent us their all stars.

Yeah.. they kicked our butts.. but it proved a few things to us..

The first half was just shock, and that's where they made all their points.. the second half everybody was just ticked off, and that's where the fights erupted, and we held them down to 30 points..

And THIS, is EXACTLY what it looks like.. they played dirty .. and our beloved Princess Slaya.. #R2D2, the Minister's daughter, got an elbow to the cheek, and when she went down.. she grabbed the other girl by the skates and took her down with her.. fists flew and refs swarmed them,..

So she's up.. notice our announcer on the sideline.. in the Hangover Baby Carlos shirt..lol

And she takes a victory lap after being ejected..

Actually- it's a mix..

i'm pissed.. at the other team.. and happy that we got this out of the way now..they now get every single thing we have been trying to tell them..and will be applying it.

and Boom Boom Pow has a broken tailbone .. again.. she literally just came off her 6 weeks healing time from her last broken tailbone.. she has GOT to learn..boobs over knees..

Peg- after everybody was paid and it was all said and done, for a rink game we did smashing, we took home $1300..

I don't know about the other team... but I do know they beat the other team 258 to 58...some of our girls ran into their girls at the Waffle House on their (Acadiana's) way home back to Lousiana, and exchanged info to set up a game.. apparently my old team played just like the team we played..

So GCRG went to go see my old team play Houston Roller Derby last night.. as we suspected since the team they beat 228 to 58 was a hollow victory... it was their first bout too...it's like beating up a 5 year old..

I figured if they played a real team. They would get their butt's kicked. The game did not disappoint, and my predictions were accurate.

This is the team we played for our first bout when I was still there..at the time the Brawlers had a full roster of 20 girls and all veterans..and they kicked their butts 232 to 30...

Last night they had 10 girls.. mostly rookies...my old team had all the usual suspects, and a new breakout star..

But they still lost 159 to 50.

The word Stagnant comes to mind.

They didn't play any better, or any worse than they did 9 months ago.

Best part of the night.. during the height of their suck.. when they were being kept completely scoreless in the second half.. and pissed beyong belief.. the announcer was roaming through the crowd and saw our shirts and gave us a shout out.. so our whole huge group stands up and starts whooping and hollering..

Their entire benchs heads snapped sideways at us and I think the blood drained from all their faces.

If looks could kill... hahahahahahaha.

After that, we always roamed the arena during the other games..we didn't see a one of them..and we purposely walked around to run into any of them.

When it was over we did run into 2 of my former besties. They stood across the parking lot and glared at us. We smiled waved and gave them the peace sign.

It was an AWESOME NIGHT!!
