I have a 6 months old male mini lop (or Holland lop in the US) who has the entire backyard to himself. I have recently moved his cage out and put some covers around for protection from rain and wind.

I really want him to learn to come back to cage when it's too windy or raining. Right now, when it rains he just sits in one place and waits for me to usher him to the cage. And if I leave the cage door open he goes back out in the rain again.

What should I do?

Hm, some of mine sit in the rain and look grumpy, but go under the tree (it's dry there) or under the sunshade when it's too much. I would try to offer him something that let's him stay in the open but staying dry, like a table, parasol, or such.

May be too much is the key? We are just worried he might not know it doesn't rain under a shade lol.

So, you are not worried that they will get sick if they are wet? Do you try to dry them?
