Hi I need help. My rabbit has bad dental issues and he has very long incisors and ia going in for a removal on June 28th. But just today when I was our my parents wee looking after him and when they were trying to out him back he jumped out of their arms and somehow broke his bottom teeth from hitting something. One bottom tooth is a short nub and the other broke past the gum line and has an open wound. He seems to still want to eat and drink but his top teeth are long and Penetrate into the gum. I Called a bunch of emergency vets but none have a rabbit specialist and my vet doesn not open till Monday. What can I do in the meantime to reduce the pain and prevent infection.

Just make sure he can still eat and drink ok. If he can then he'll probably be fine until you can get him seen Monday. If he is having difficulty eating/drinking, then you may need to make a pellet mush to see if that's easier for him. If not, then you may need to start syringe feeds.

I bought emergency food from Sherwood in preparation for his neuter so I will definitely keep an eye on him. He seems his normal self today and he ate his pellets and I monitored him last night and he never stopped eating his hay which I'm happy about. But I feel bad cause even though he is acting normal I can tell he's in pain, he flinches a little every time he takes a bite :( but he is very determined to eat and is very food driven

It's probably a little swollen and sore. But that's good he doesn't seem to mind too much and is keeping up the eating. When you get him in to the vet tomorrow, along with whatever the vet decides to do for the remaining incisors, you'll want to make sure they send you home with some meloxicam for him.

Update: Getting some meloxicam for him and he will be getting a teeth trim of his top teeth. Unfortunately we most likely have to move his neuter and incisor removal till his bottom teeth grow a bit more
