Looking for a hay that's as dust free as possible (preferably not too expensive).

I'm very allergic to dust and my bun will be having to live in my bedroom when we move house (not enough space elsewhere other than dining room).

Thanks.

If you are in the UK or Europe I think there is an online company that sells dust free hay. If you are in the US, I haven't seen anything that says it's specifically dust free. There are several RO members that like smallpetselect hay. You could try contacting them and asking about dust free hay. I've also included a few other links for hay companies that I found mentioned for others looking for a dust free hay, though I don't personally have any experience with any of these companies.

Trying a different type of hay might make a difference as well. If you are currently using timothy, I know some people are sensitive to it and use orchard, oat, or another grass hay that they aren't sensitive to and isn't usually as dusty as timothy. I specifically found people mentioning orchard and oat being not as dusty. Your cheapest option would be finding a local farmer or feed store that has good horse quality orchard, oat, or other low dust grass hay. You want to ensure the hay was cured properly(green inside and not sun bleached(some sun bleaching on outside of bale is ok and normal), it has no noxious weeds, has never been wet and was not baled when damp(ensuring it's mold free, not sour or musty smelling, no black or white spots, no white dust).
