Does anyone on here live in England?

I'm working on a short story (again!) and my setting is a small village as close to London as possible. I would describe it as small, where everyone knows everyone. On the main street, there would be a small coffee shop, a small grocery store, a little pub, and maybe a little bookstore.



Could anyone tell me if such a village/small town exists like that in England?

I dont know much about the country but from what I've seen and heard, some houses/cottages are very far apart with fields between them.

If you could provide with me with a detailed description of such a town/village, that would be great.
