do 4h rabbits have to be purebred?

I think it is generally preferred for most 4-H projects that the rabbits be purebred. Most do showing and breeding, so a rabbit they can show is best.
For clubs that do rabbit hopping and don't do breeding or showing, then mixed breeds can be used and there is much less focus on having a purebred rabbit.
