Well, tomorrow is surgery (neuter) day for Bruce!
normally, I keep Oxbow Critical Care on hand, but my package is expired and literally all the stores near me are out of it. Some kind of supply shortage I guess. So my question is, would there be any alternative? Could I make something suitable? I have unsweetened applesauce, papaya enzyme tablets, and BounceBack (which is an electrolyte supplement). Would any of that be helpful?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks to you both!
I didn’t realize that the main thing was pellets and water. The vet was even out of critical care so I did end up just crushing pellets into a powder and blending them with banana and water, and Bruce loves it! I did have to give him one syringe of it just after surgery to stimulate his appetite but since then he has been eating! Not a whole lot, but he’s at least nibbling on hay and pellets and did eat all his veggies.
fingers crossed that the rest of his recovery goes smoothly! :)
