Back then, when the buns stayed on the poarch, I noticed some boo boos on Cocoa's feet. They looked like scabs. That's when I thought that he might be cutting or scathing his feet on the poarch(You know, it's made of wood!!). That's another reason why I decided to let them run in the garden, where he won't scratch his feet. We'll today both buns got a nice bath. They where so stinky and filthy from jumping around and digging in the dirt.

Bunny baths are terrible. Like usuall, Bun-Bun breaks a nail and freaks out about it. And Cocoa just won't settle down!! - that's not the real part of the issue, I just whanted to share it. lol

Anyways, as they became less damp, I let them air dry out side on the poarch(Their just going to get dirt soaked into their fur if they go out in the garden.). It's very nice out side whith a light breezy wind to help dry them. Well, later, I came out side to pick them up, and I see blood every where!! At first I thought, Bun-Bun chipped another nail(They will bleed very bad!!). But I checked his feet and saw nothing(Other than the one he chipped earlier.) Then as Cocoa hopped to me - a see little blood spot trails coming from the back of him. I was like "Oh no!! Wet Tail!!" I looked under him and saw that those little scabs on his feet where bleeding!! Ahhhhh!! I dried them up, and gently put some paraxide on them - he actually liked the feeling. And applied some neosporn and coved it up whith a band aid.And He's sitting on my bed for right now till I take the band aid off,and put him into his cage.

Anyways, they don't look like they need any stitches or any thing of the such, but is there another way I can heal this instead of an uncomforable band aid, that is difficult to put on and take off? Could he be possibly suffering an illness that makes his feet scab?
Sorry my post is so large.

Thanx a bunches!!

Cocoa is a mini rex, correct? Sounds like Sore Hocks.

First, if theyre freaking out that much, I wouldnt give them baths. I wont ever give my bunnies baths because you risk sending them into shock. Can you just use a warm cloth to wash them down?

For the hocks, this is normal for rexes, who have very little fur/padding on their feet. Keeping their nails cut will help this, as well as making sure they arent overweight. I probably wouldnt use peroxide again, especially if its an open sore. I would just keep putting some neosporin on the area (make sure its not the kind with pain reliever in it). You could try Liquid Band aid to help keep it from getting infected.

If its really bad you may want to take him to the vet. An infection could lead to abscesses or worse.

Thanks so much. Yes, he's a mini-rex and yes he's over weight, yet I keep their nails trim. I took him out of his new cage(Which was a birthday present ,it's very big , but wire grid flooring. That can just add discomfort.), and put him in the old one whith a big sheet to absord any blood. His scars are big, and are starting to worry me. When I put the paraxide on, I saw a lot of fizzing(Which is a sighn of infection.). Next morning, I will try to get him to the vet.

When I looked at the Sore Hocks page ya'll gave me, those examples of rabbit's soars looked a lot worser than Co's. So,I thought I'd take care of it my self instead of spending $30 for an exam. I took advice from the links. And thanxs a bunches for the help. It's defenanty Sore Hocks. He's got those symtoms - tiredness, lack of energy, and lack of appitite. It's a real pain to put that guase on his feet, even when in hyponosis. But when the blood was cleaned off, it looked alot smaller. The soars are small and round, about the size of a nickle. And it's healing well. He's going to to have a scab there and will take a wile till the fur grows back. I will take pics of the soars tommarow. My batteries will be charged by then.

Which pictures were you looking at?Many of those medical sites have pictures of the worst cases. When sore hocks are bleeding that means they've already gotten quite bad and are at risk for infection, etc. Usually we only treat them ourselves if it's inflamed skin or thick callouses, not open sores.

IMO you should take Cocoa to a vet.

The sores have become a lot better. In fact, I took the bandages off. I'm washing them whith antibactial soap. They are not bleeding and are not open wounds, they are hard - just like callisouses. Trust me even though I can't spell the word correctly, I know what callisouses are. I have several of them on my feet(Some areas old as 7 years. Hee hee.)!! They are a reddish-brown colour - the colour of a human scab.
Here's some pics I took today:

First of all, here's his body. (Yes, it looks like I'm choking him, but actually I'm just gently resting his head against my chest and he is in hypnosis.) He's still fat and is still 10 pounds. I've been working on him losing weight by lowering his food amount. But whith the foot issue - he's going to have to forget about running around in the garden till further notice.

1 of his sores on one of his feet. Don't worry, it's bad lighting. That's why the colours looks darker.

Glad to hear he's feeling better. Putting some neosporin on them (the kind without pain reliever) will help as well. You can also use something called Bag Balm (which is for cow udders and is sold at feed stores and Walmart) or desitin baby cream to help them heal.

I'm not putting on any more bandages - do you think it would be O.K. leaving Neosporn on the sore whith out the bandage? I mean, it will have things stick to it, like litter, hair, and poop.

I would rub a little on and hold him fora few minutes so it has a chance to set in. Maybe blow on it a little if he will let you..

um.... I don't want to sound harsh, but those pics of his sores make me feel that Cocoa needs to go to the vet ASAP.

Please, for his sake, if nobody else's.
