I just wondered what you all pay for the combined vaccine for your rabbit. One vet quoted £51 and another £40. Castration is £57. I thought the vaccines would!d cost less. Thanks x

I had my 2 vaccinated a couple of months ago it was was just over £100, but having had one of them get myxi a while ago it's defiantly worth it his treatment waswell over £400!!

I paid $35 for Felix's calci vaccination (myxi vaccination isn't offered in Australia :(), and $200 for his castration. Quite a high price, but I went to a specialist in unusual pets to be safe, so I was willing to pay a bit more.

I paid 27 euros for myxi vac for each of mine. Neuter was 135 euros for all 3, got a discount for doing more than 1.

I think I paid $50 for Bandit's calici vaccination, his neuter was $99.

Sorry, my numbers were wrong, lol. His calicivirus vaccination cost $15 (I get his annual health check done at the same time which costs an additional $62, not sure if there'd be a small consult fee for just the vaccine), his neuter was $100 and I got him microchipped while he was under which cost an extra $45.

Where do you guys get such good prices on neutering!! I called my dog's vet today to ask about bunny spaying/neutering (not sure if we are getting a male or female), I was quoted...get this...spay $450, Neutering $350!!! I then called a well respected vets office next town over and was quoted $350 spay, $300 neuter. Talk about sticker shock. Our dog only cost $150 for her spay. But yeah, rabbits are specialized surgery. Luckily I have the funds.

I live in Canada, so prices may be different, but as a Vet tech who works in an animal hospital, I will tell you, you get what you pay for. When you guys çall & ask for quotes for the spay/ neuter, find out if bunny will have IV fluids & pain meds. Having an IV in before & after the procedure is a MUST! Bunnies don't do we'll under anesthetic, and the IV is helpful to keep their blood pressure up, warm (we heat the fluids), & gives direct access to the vein in case of an emergency. Bunny surgeries are super stressful & way more high risk then a cat or a dog.
The prices that were quoted by 3willowsbunny are on par with what my clinic charges.

Part of it is quality of care/rabbit experience, and part of it simply depends on the clinic I think. I know I went to the best place for Bandit since they have two vets with lots of rabbit experience and the state rabbit rescue organisation uses them for everything. So they have done many, many spay and neuters and have lots of experience.

The second place I called, which I actually feel more comfortable with as they have a few small animal specialists who really know their stuff. The girl on the phone did mention IV fluids and seemed a lot more helpful. I will bring my bun there for a checkup right after I get him/her and go from there. Thanks for your reply, I now know exactly what to look for and ask about. I really think it was a case of sticker shock at first.
