Can anyone tell me if this type of coloring has a name? My bunny is solid white for about 1/2 inch then hair turns to color. I’m sure it’s not uncommon but I’m new to rabbits and think it’s beautiful!

Your rabbit is a cream (called fawn in some breeds). The white undercolor will go away as he ages. It's called "snowballing" and is found in a lot of dilute baby rabbits. The undercolor as an adult will still be a light cream, that's just how creams work, but not quite as stark contrast as it is now.
