Hello!

i just found out we should be checking our buns for flystrike, the only thing is Georgie does not like to be picked up, let alone for us to check her bum. Does anyone have any alternatives or tricks?

If your rabbit is indoors the chance of flystrike is almost negligible. You would see maggots in the litter. But if the litter is being cleaned regularly, that isn't likely to happen. She'd have to have a poopy bum for a fly to be able to lay eggs there.

Do you clip her nails? You can check her bum at that time. You can wrap her in a towel and peel back the part of the towel that will allow you to see her bum.

If you keep her toilet clean and dry you shouldn't worry about fly strikes

No I don’t do her nails myself. She is a perfect angel at the vet’s but at home she absolutely hates when I try to clip them
