to all of u wondering, yes he is from a line of pet rabbits...all the rabbits here are from a line of dumped pets, sadly. thanks for that email address golfdiva, i sent an email.

yesterday morning he was out from his hidey box and eating hay and drinking so i think he's doing pretty good...i havent been home since though so im hoping he's continueing eating. ill prob take him to the vet on tues (theyre closed on mon) and send in a stool sample cus thats what the person i talked to recommended. im hoping this vet is as good as he sounds, he specialises in rabbits and was part of a spay/neuter marathon for 10 or 20 rabbits that they rescues from outdoors (same as my bunny). my last experience with a vet was my first, he was checking my poor little hairless guinea pig, didnt seem too concerned, then my piggy died two days later :(

Sounds like the bunbun is adjusting well, and that you've found a good, rabbit savvy vet. Let us know how the vet visit goes...and for fluff's sake, post more pictures soon! He's so cute!

Call or email Christine (info below). She had hand raised many baby rabbits. I know when they are that little she gives them goat milk. Kitten Replacement Milk will do also if you can't find goat milk.

I'm sure she will help you. Let her know where you got her contact info.

The baby is old enough to not need milk anymore :)

okay, @qtipthebun, vet visit went really well :)

vet office is sooo eaasy for me to get to, 10 minutes by bus (i dont drive) and its right there when i get off the stop.

vet was nice and gentle with the rabbit, i could tell he knew what he was doing/what to look for, and he talked to me during the examination explaining things. like he was extra cautious about having the bunny on the table, explaining how he gets so many rabbits come in with broken legs, showed me how to clip nails, specially cus theyre black...he thinks it's actually a female but he couldnt guaruntee it, and estimated my bunny to be about a month old. (i did some more research on sexing a bunny and was like "ohhh...girls stick out too..LOL!! XP )

he is a holistic vet adn doesnt really believe in feeding pellets...so he showed me how to go out and get some grass and make several grass boxes. So now im gonna make a few and keep them on my balcony...my bunny food cost is gonna be next to nothing!! :D

and yep, he tested for parasites, bunny is parasite free, and will get her spayed in about 6 months..

so now i need to think of a name, preferably something unisex (unfortunately my boyfriend has a funny idea for names.. "call it Whitey cus its black!) but i have in mind the name Haley right now...suggestions?

She/he/ze looks like a Haley. I think that's adorable. I'm so glad you've got an adorable, healthy bunny. Yay!!
Congratulations on a Healthy little Girl. Love the name Haley.

Please keep us informed regarding the "non-pellet" diet. As I believe you can get all the necessary nutrition in a pellet, plus subliment with veggies and fruit, there are those who do not use pellets. Would love to see how Haley does with this.

Gee, never knew there were three different genders. Must be something to do with that association.

lol huh? three?

he/she/ze for your feral bunny. I always thought there was only he or she.

And now the Vet confirmed your Hailey, a sweet bunny that someone threw away to survive on it's own, is a girl.

Congratulations on being so kind hearted!

what is ze? and actually i think she was born feral. There's tons of babies around right now cus its babyyy season!

Beats me! Born feral from a once domesticated rabbit. Have one here and looks like babies inour backyard too. Silly people think just because it's a rabbit, it can live in the wild.

Poor rest of the babies. People have no "common sense" when it comes to domesticated rabbits. They think they are all wild and easily thrown away after someone gets tired of them.

I actually used to catch all the feral bunnies that would come into our yard back in AK. There were only 3, but I caught them and would rehabilitate them (they lived in a converted shed away from my pet bunnies to be safe) and after a while of them warming up to me and getting neutered would go to live at a bunny sanctuary to hopefully be adopted.

I'm honestly amazed they survived since most people's dogs were free-range as were a lot of the cats and we had coyotes and occasionally black bears in the yard.

I have no clue why they always wandered into our yard, but it's like they knew. Or maybe they smelled my other bunnies/liked the garden. Either way, glad some people are helping out the feral bunnies.

I think you are right about them knowing there is "no harm" there. Plus your bunnies might be attracting them too. I'm finding more and more bunnies finding a safe haven in our yard. Unfortunately, there is no Wild life group here any more (County did away with it) so the only sanctuary is what we can provide. Which we do. Food and shelter and knowing no dogs because Jake loves bunnies will harm them.
