Thanks for the explanation. Do they bring young bunnies to shows? It would seem if they
did that, they'd have a similar issue with disease exposure.
 
There's definitely some people that do bring 8-12 week old rabbits to shows unfortunately, but the most responsible breeders don't. 8-12 week olds do still have better resistance against disease than unweaned babies or babies in the process of weaning.
 
That answers both my questions. I certainly don't want a young bunny who is weaned too early
or separated from its environment in a shocking way. It seems that through a breeder, we'll have to go
by photo alone and possibly the description or guess by the breeder as to personality. It comes down to
the final meeting off-site I guess. Our last gal "Allie" was a curious, friendly and well balanced rabbit when
we first met her. We knew she was a go.
