    Hi all

Our bunnyboy Terry passed away two days a go at the vet. We didn't get to bring his partner Jasmine to say goodbye. I read that it's best to bring the bunny to spend some time with the other one.
Now we regret it because Jasmine seems confused, she's sniffing looking at the spots that Terry always there before. Seems like she's trying to find him everywhere. We've spent a lot of time with her but she refused to be petted, always runs away when we approached her. She was really close to Terry and depended on him but not to us.

She's still eating and pooping but less than usual because she's busier roaming around the house sniffing. We have to encourage her to eat.

Planning to get her a new partner, when do you think it's the best time? Some says wait for a week so that she would realize Terry is no longer here. By looking at her behavior I'm worry that waiting for another week will make her worst. We're worry leaving her alone in the house will make her feeling lost or stress but unfortunately we have to go to work. Any suggestions?

    Thank you so much!

Sometimes a stuffed animal to snuggle with can help in situations like this (some bunns appreciate it, others couldn't care less). To help her bond with you guys more while awaiting a new partner, a good trick is to hand-feed her daily pellet ration (to win her over with food without giving too many treats ;)). The first week or two is the hardest; I've found it takes an average of around a month for most rabbits to be fairly well adjusted to a major change (moving, loss of a bonded companion, new human in the house, new non-bonded animal in the home).

Do any shelters/rescues in your area allow for bunny dating (bringing your rabbit in to meet their adoptable bunns)? If so, that's the best route - let her tell you with her body language whether or not she's interested in being friends with any of the potential new mates :).

They have stuffed animals but she always throw them away haha..Terry was the one who adores them. Yes we tried to feed her pellet with hand even hays too. Looks like she's not really eating hays except the ones in the litter, normally she'd eat a lot of hays. We will continue this way Thanks for the advice!

Yup we know some shelters that allow bunny dating! That's how they met before. Do you think it's too quick to try bunny dating today? Otherwise we have to wait another weekend because of our work commitments.

I think as soon as you're ready, go for it. Worst thing that can happen is that she just doesn't hit it off with anyone quite yet.

We will going to have a bunny date this weekend :) And we'll see how it goes if she's happy that's great. Otherwise we'll try again next time. Thanks!
