Hello everyone,

Let me start off by giving some background info on my bunnies and their living situation. Ringo (male) and Oreo (female) have been bonded since they were 10weeks old. I have now had them for 2.5 years. They have only broken their bond once when they were both spayed/ neutered, but quickly reacquainted. They both have free range of our entire apartment and up to about 1 month ago they were getting along just fine. I like to think they are well taken care of but here is their daily diet: pellets, hay gets refilled twice and they get veggies twice too. They have plenty of toys and as I've mentioned full unrestricted access to our 800 sqft apartment.

The problem is that Ringo has started chasing and nipping at Oreo! He only does it when she is being petted by humans (my kids, boyfriend, and myself). He will also do this to her if we pet him. It's like he doesnt want us to pet her and if she accepts our petting she pays the price. He chases her all the way under the bed at which point he will groom her. It has made me a little sad because before when I would pet Oreo she would lick me, now if I put my hand near her mouth she will just smell me but not lick me ... =[ Ringo has never been the "loving" kind so I'm use to not getting any attention from him, but not my darling Oreo! The weird part is that they seem to get along great all day and Ringo seems to be the more submissive of the two, constantly bathing and pampering Oreo. That is until we decide to pet either of them.

Please help, I want to pet my little Oreo and not worry about her getting "beat up" because of me!

When he nips her you can gently, but firmly push his head to the floor. It is how a mother rabbit punishes her babies.
