Male bun had to get groomed for winter and had body hair shaved, he is about half the size now (bonded pair was same size)
Female doesn't recognise him anymore and bit him pretty badly and started fighting.
Any have experience with this?

I can think after the hair cut the bunny started to smell different which caused the other bunny to not recognise him, if she wasen't there with him while getting his hair cut.

They should do the bonding again from the start and reintroduce him again to the girl.

^Yup. It wasn't the cut, but the fact that the rabbit came back smelling differently. Different smell = different rabbit (in bunny's eyes).
Bonded rabbits must always remain together. Even for vet trips, etc.

They will probably be snuggie again in no time. Bunnies are really sensitive and any change in their routine can make them a little nervous.

Sorry I read the title of this thread and just started laughing.

it’s not a funny situation at all and hopefully will resolve itself soon but just slightly comical.

I hope the bite heals fast :(
