Bonded mate passed away.

Hi it is me again. Twinkie's mom. My 2 1/2 year old neutered bunny lost his bonded mate 4 weeks ago. We took him to a speed dating event 2 weeks after she passed. He was not hostile to any of the females, just ignored them. We figured he just wasn't ready.
I have looked into several bunnies but they are 2 hours away. If we were to take him to meet them it will mean 4 hours in the car for him which would stress him out.
Has anyone had any luck with just bringing another bunny home, keeping them separated and going through the bonding process?
He will not come out of his room anymore. He is eating and drinking but seems soooooo lonely.

I'm so sorry! I have quite a few good bonding experiences by bringing one home. You just have to do it slowly and the right way.

I would get a rabbit that he chooses if possible, but I understand if you can't because of the drive. I always recommend reading this link and watching this video when bonding: https://rabbitsindoors.weebly.com/bonding-bunnies.html.
