What does it mean if a rabbit has a blocked eye duck?

What can be done for it?

Thanks for your help.

Susan:)

basicly they cant drain the tears. So they would constantly have a weepy eye, typically clear fluid. Not anything white or green.

Depending on the bunny a general anesthetic may need to be used, but vets can just flush them out.

If this is a reoccurring pattern you may have to use antibiotics as well.

Becky's tear ducts have been blocked several times over the past year, but she never showed anything other than clear tears (the fur would also fall off from the constant wetness). It was eventually cultured and we found out she had a staff infection. We are guessing it was passed back and forth between her eyes and ears. Now after many rounds of antibiotics, flushing, teeth checks, etc.I think she will finally be all set. It tooktwo weeks of eye and ear drops alone, then two weeks of added oral antibiotics, then two additional weeks of the eye and ear drops alone. She had a hard time with the orals, which is why they were just two weeks in the middle. Needless to say that after six weeks of medicating twice a day, even Becky's patience are wearing thin. Saturday we are done!

I hope a flush is all you need.
