Baytril 10%

Hi guys,

I'm really concerned about my bunny and our recent visit to the vet. So this morning, we had to rush to vets because our tiny lionhead was feeling really poorly and had breathing difficulties. So the vet prescribed Baytril for 10 days, once a day via syringe. I have had Baytril before but it's always been the 2.5%, this time he gave us the 10% but a very little dosage. The bunny gets 0.15 ml of Baytril 10% once a day, he's 1.360 kg. I just don't feel sure about the higher concentration.

What was his weight when u were admistering just the 2.5%, and what volume was that?
Have you expressed concerns to the vet?

Hi, he didn't have Baytril before, my other bunnies have who are heavier.

Its best to speak to the vet. Maybe the others had a higher volume but lower concentration?
Also depends on the severity of the case. I hope you get the answers youre looking for.

10% would be 100mg/ml, which would mean you are giving 15mg with the 0.15ml dose. Usual dosage for enrofloxacin is 10-20mg/kg per day for rabbits. For a 1.3kg rabbit, 15mg is actually at the lower end of the dosage range.

Thanks for the replies guys, I had a half an hour chat with my usual vet this morning and he said it's a lower dosage but higher concentration but it is still the same medicine, he said let's see how the bun is doing and if I need to, I should bring him in next week.
