Hi all
Hoping you can help me…I gave Minx a small piece of banana last week and now every time I’m standing by the kitchen sink cutting something she runs over and stands tall thinking it’s banana! It was an apple and I offered her some but no interest there!
So how often and how much can I give her?
I don’t want to do anything that is a negative for her.
Thanks so much

So it can depend on the size of your bun but I give my bunnies 1 piece each and I have 2 bunnies, each piece is about 2-3 centimeters thick. If you want to give your bunny banana every day I would split that piece of banana into smaller pieces 🙂 Sorry if that was a little confusing and hope that helps 😄

No this is very helpful and Minx is going to be so happy to have a small piece each day.
Thank you Peaches and Cream’s mom 👍🤗🐇🐇

Hehe Miley loves a little bit of banana... but only dried, not fresh! She's on a diet at the minute though so isn't getting much.

So…only a small piece maybe twice a week or is that too much. I love her and certainly don’t want to endanger her with any sickness
A tiny piece a day has never hurt my rabbits but that's just what they are used to, it really depends on the rabbit. If you choose a little piece a day just watch her poops and see if they are runny or not if they are not your bun is probably oki but it seriously depends on the bun! 🤗

I have a question….
sorry if doing this wrong; I’ve always used this platform when posting a reply.
now I need some advice…
how often and how much banana can you give your bun?
i gave Minx a small piece of banana about a week ago while I was standing by the kitchen sink. Now whenever I am in the same place cutting an apple or anything, she runs over and stands high waiting for banana. I know there is sugar in them so how much and how often can I give her some. I offered some of my apple 🍎 but no interest there!
please help!
Yvonne
I give my bunz at least a whole banana a week and they seem fine so I think it'd be safe for her to have a little more, but it also depends on how much other fruit you feed her, and again I'm no very experienced with buns

Of course I'm glad I could help and I totally understand how precious buns can be! They have pretty sensitive stomachs so it's hard to know right and wrong with food for your little fur ball, but I hope Minx enjoys her banana!🍌🐇

Mine never liked banana and only one of 17 would eat strawberry. I used to give them a very small, thin apple slice in the morning and 2 of them wouldn't touch it at all. Of course they were all different--some would have pellets in a small dish for most of a week while others would gobble them up in a morning. Feeding rabbits is a situational thing!

Boy are you telling me! Minx LOVES the banana and that’s the only fruit I give her. She stares blindly at me when I offered a small piece of apple! When giving her small bits of banana; if I can’t give it to her fast enuf, she growls between bites!!! So I will give her small amount two times a week and see how that goes. She eats LOTS of greens but very little hay and no water. She might take a sip of water from her bowl but I don’t catch her doing it. I give her small amounts of pellets due to the greens she eats. Her poops are great and she seems very happy.
Thanks for all your helps, 👍👍🤗🐇🐇

Bananas, like all fruit, are sugary so need to be given in small amounts. Some rabbits are more sensitive than others. But even rabbits that tolerate them well should not get a large amount at one time. All that sugar at once can cause a bacterial imbalance in their gut. So it's actually safer to give smaller amounts daily than to give a large amount once per week. Does that make sense?

My rabbits have always gone bananas for bananas, lol!! Here are a couple of mine enjoying some.

Oh my goodness….they are so adorable! I can see how much they enjoy their treat of banan! That’s how Minx eats too. But it seems like you are giving them quite a bit???
I will give small amounts two times week. I’m afraid of upsettting her health in any way!
I will watch her poop etc.
thanks for your info and sharing the vide! So cute!

My bunny loves apples and bananas. I usually give her a snack of fruit she likes 2 or 3 times a week. I usually cut the banana up into 5 small pieces and the apple into several small pieces.
