Hi,
I'm living in a small side valley now where lots of predators are, but no wild rabbits- which is great, I can deal with predators, but at my last home Myxo, transmitted by the local rabbit population there, killed 14 of my 15 rabbits.
Today, down by the creek (where the rabbits are) a Nutria walked almost up to me, well, it was eating the apples laying around, when I got too close it didn't retreat but made clear that it's not a good idea to come any closer. Had an injury in the face, and gobbled down apples like there's no tomorrow.
It was easy to locate for hours because it was sneezing regularily.
Anyway, never seen those critters anywhere around here before, but since they are rodents I wonder if they could carry something that could be harmful to rabbits. Does anyone have knowledge about that issue?
