Angora Lop Fur GRR!

My Angora Lop has matted up real bad!

I try and groom him everyday but sometimes its just a miss, I was grooming him last night and I cam accross BIG mats! I clipped of most I could without cutting him, the mats are to close to his skin and it looks tight. (mats around his neck)

Any advice? should I shave all his fur around his neck of?

If it's matted you might be better off to shave the hair completely rather than trying to cut the mats out.

How does your bunny react to the clippers?

Thanks, ive cut most of the fur around his neck of.

Hes good with the clippers if I give him something to eat to distract him.

I agree about just shaving off the mats if they are really bad, a lot less stress for the bunny that way. A de-matting comb (for dogs) works really well on the mats that form on their necks as long as they aren't too close to the skin yet.
