Amount of feed?

Hello, I have pretty much all medium sizedrabbits how much feed should i be feeding them daily? If I doget some hollands how much do they need each day? ThanksRobert

Hi Robert,

"You should use rabbit pellets from a reputable source that has beensupplying rabbit feed for many years. Each day, a rabbit will eatapproximately one fluid ounce of feed per pound of weight. There are 8fl oz in one cup. So a four pound rabbit will eat about 4 oz or 1/2 cupof feed. An eight pound rabbit, about 1 cup. Do not feed a rabbit morethan one day's supply of feed at a time unless you will be gone theweekend. If you allow your rabbit to get fat, it will not breed verywell, the judge will disqualify it in shows, and the rabbit will have amuch higher risk of dying."http://www.debmark.com/rabbits/basics.htm

Keep in mind that in cold temperatures, you may wish to increase theamount of food slightly due to the need for warmth. Check outthe post about about Warming Rabbits in Fall and Winter Months.
