I have noticed in the last two days that my one bunny hasn't been putting full pressure on his rear legs. He kind of drags them. I have seen him use them slightly. He also has sticky fur around his privates and legs. I have also noticed a little redness on his inner thighs. He seems to be eating well. And he can still get around when I bring him inside on the carpet. Any advice?

Sounds like trouble with urine scald, which I guess is related to his walking/dragging (not sure) but I'd take him to a vet to check him over properly. Urine scald either indicates he is incontinent, or something is wrong with his urinating posture that makes his pee dribble down his legs instead of the normal strong stream away from his bum. The redness is skin burned from constant contact with uric acid and can be very painful.

So either he is incontinent and the pain from urine scald is affecting his use of his rear legs, thus causing the dragging, or something wrong with his rear legs, affecting his urinating posture and thus causing the urine scald. I think this merits a visit to a good rabbit vet!

You need to take him to the vet right away. What you are describing could be something like splay leg, or it could be hind limb weakness/paralysis caused by spinal trauma or the e. cuniculi parasite. It may be reversible if diagnosed and treated properly by an experienced rabbit vet. He may also be getting urine burn from urine soaked fur, which will also need to be managed to avoid a skin infection or fly strike occurring.

Thank you! I'm planning a trip to the vet in the morning! I just hope they have an opening!

I just happened to look up urine scald.. the photos look alot like his belly area.. and I did noticed a whitish/yellow substance on the carpet part of the cage. But when I looked it up on the Internet it said it was normal for bunnies to get rid of extra calcium. Then yesterday was when I noticed he was walking weird. And today it's not any better!

Update!! Oppie isn't in the best conditions right now. The vet told us he may of fractured his spine or could possibly be partially paralyzed. But when they check his legs for movement he still kicked so she put him on anti inflammatory meds and pain meds and want him to stay in a confined space in a cat carrier for 2 weeks than go from there.

Thank you! I will be sure to update on his health threw out this process!
