    Two Questions: diet and barbering

Ah! That makes much more sense, and solves the feeding problem! Merci! Merci!

    Two Questions: diet and barbering

Hey folks! Thanks you for your quick replies and reassurance. Lops, there's some pinkness around the eye area (but also, her skin is pink), but Yoshi doesn't seem the least bit affected by it (nor is there any watery eyes or anything like that). I think it just shocked me because I'd never heard...

    Two Questions: diet and barbering

Hi all, I just adopted a second bunny. She's 7 mo. old now, and I've had her for a month. (She's fixed.) Lupe got along with Yoshi, a Netherland Dwarf who is about 8 yrs old and I've had her for 7 years, immediately. I literally couldn't keep them apart. Lupe, despite her age and size, is...

    MONTH BABYSITTER NEEDED IN NYC

I'm traveling home for a month from Dec. 21 until January 24(ish). Unfortunately, I cannot take my rabbit. I have roommates that are willing to feed her, but Yoshi (3 yr old, neutered female) is incredibly social. Case in point, I left for a five day vacation and when I got back she just ran...

RESOLVED: Help! My Bun (Nala) needs a new home :(

I so badly want to take Nala, but I just have too small of a room (in too small of an apartment) for two rabbits (as I have another 2 yr old female). I'm sure you've heard this a lot, but I've been really struggling with this decision since I saw her. I'm pretty heartbroken over it. She's...

Color blindness or just seriously bad eyesight? How do I know?

I actually JUST got a new food bowl! She was able to find it, though I didn't see her initial search for it. It could be a night thing, but I thought that would be when their vision was best! In reflection, that does seem to be when all of her "hittin' stuff" problems are. Good to know...

She's clearly bored, but she doesn't play with toys!

Thanks SO MUCH for all the great tips! I don't have too much room now to make a little maze-y thing, but I can definitely make some activities for her. Seriously! What great ideas! I appreciate it.

2Qs on diet: Calcium and alfalfa pellets

Oh most definitely. She gets a tons of different veggies. Less a little recently. I've had to rely on bodeggas for her veggies since I haven't ordered substantial veggies yet for me. How would I know if she is having calcium problems? Eek. There aren't any problems yet and I'm already nervous!

My Rabbit Ate My Cookie: How I Knew I Was Raising a Sugar Addict

Ha! For some reason these stories JUST reminded me of the time we had a cherry pie out on the counter.... the cat didn't just lick it... didn't just take a bite... she raaaaan onto the counter, slid across it, hopped IN the pie, and started eating it.

2Qs on diet: Calcium and alfalfa pellets

Do you have any brand recommendations for pellet food? Currently I do Oxbow, and love them. I eat kale every other day, and Yoshi may get a leaf or two then, but I keep it pretty sporadic. She loves it so! As she gets older should I just make it more and more sporadic?

She's clearly bored, but she doesn't play with toys!

My rabbit likes boxes to eat, pillows to dig at, and walls to chew on. I have straw balls, like 12 wooden sticks of various kinds (applewood, bright colors, small, long, skinny, thick, even ones that LOOK like the wood that she likes to eat around my room)... none of it really seems to...

Color blindness or just seriously bad eyesight? How do I know?

Are all rabbits color blind? Is mine? I was told she ISN'T an albino, but she's all white with red eyes. I think I don't know exactly what MAKES a rabbit albino... I think this because she can only seem to find the blueberry if it's in my hand or in her food dish. Even if it's right in front...

My Rabbit Ate My Cookie: How I Knew I Was Raising a Sugar Addict

I think I've gotten my rabbit addicted to sugar. I recently moved from STL to NYC (woooo hoooo!) and I ran out of freeze dried strawberry treats (I LOVE Dr. Foster and Smith's collection of rabbit food and treats, btw) and had a few yogis left. I normally don't feed them to her since they are so...

2Qs on diet: Calcium and alfalfa pellets

Maybe I should post these separately. Help with either or both is greatly appreciated: 1) I was chatting with a friend the other day and she said that one of the issues she had with her rabbit (male, now 11) was that she kept feeding him kale after age 3 and he ended up getting huge calcium...

    NY Rabbit Savvy Vets

Are there any 24 hour vet clinics out there? You know... god forbid... but just in case.

    NY Rabbit Savvy Vets

If you don't mind me asking, how much more is a house call than an office visit? My rabbit really, really hates the vet. She hates being picked up (luckily for me, she cuddles, comes, and gets in her cage on command), so it's always a terrible experience. I'm considering giving this guy a...

    Death in the Family

Amelie, a rabbit I've had for 6 months (she was 9 months old), passed away of a heart attack today from an incident involving a dog knocking into her cage. My friend was bunny sitting for me for a month. Yoshi, my other rabbit who is a year and a half old, was his rabbit once before. My...

    Cross-country move

I'm sure we'll drive, but I bet we'll have to stop for sure. The bathroom! What a great idea. We'll get a little snippet of how they travel when I move 2 hours north for a few hours. So far they've only had bad car rides, to the vet, etc.... so I think the car makes them really...
