    Too old?

I've only owned him for 2 years, not all 6 of his life or I would have neutered him earlier. I want to neuter now so hopefully he'd be more reliably litter trained and so he wont spray on my bed(that hes blocked from right now). I want to have him free roaming the apartment instead of locking...

    Too old?

hopefully this is the right section for this. My rabbit Peppy is about 6 years old, he is a holland lop, indoor, no health issues in his life. If I got blood work done for him before hand, do you think it would be safe to put him through a neuter? I've been changing my mind a lot because of his...

How did you come up with your rabbit's names?

Peppy was named after the rabbit in the game Starfox64. It was the first thing that came to mind when he came to us.

Wild cottontail nest in garden, baby rabbits keep falling in bricks

Wild animals deserve to stay in the wild. They dont even act the same as domestic rabbits and they wouldn't be content in captivity as if they were domestic. I'd block off the holes in the bricks or move the nest over to the ground and then leave the babies alone after that. Touching them wont...

2 neutered males suddenly fighting. help please!

I would give them time for hormones to settle down and for Romeo to heal without stress. Sometimes when one goes to the vet and comes back it can confuse the other animal or change the dynamic. Try slowly introing them from the beginning again in a few weeks once they have time to forget their...

    Becoming a Vegetarian

I'm a vegetarian and the only kind of fake meats I'll eat is Yves brand. It's the only stuff that tastes close and it curbed my meat cravings perfectly when I was startng out. They have nuggets, ground round etc. and yep thats all it takes for tofu. It's easy. I just made sloppy joes with tofu...

    2013 Cages You've Made

This is Peppys newest cage setup when opened. He gets the open side shut at night times but during the day it works as a nice gate.

Do You Have Any Real Phobias?

I am agoraphobic and have needle phobia. Also a fear of scabies. I had them once and I was considering cutting my skin off. I hate hate hate hate them since before I ever had them even.

    Who raises the hamsters? Imbrium?

Poor thing. Honestly with two super screwed up legs I'd just get him humanely euthanized if it was me.

Maybe a collapsible dog crate would work?

I am curious about the possibility of owning ferrets and rabbits in the same house

I think ferrets would still know a rabbit is a rabbit if it's large. It wouldn't be smart to have them together either way just due to the risk. I'd always always want multiple doors or cage doors between the animals.

    Cage

I use a litter box inside and outside the cage until they get used to it. After that its up to you whether you keep the out of cage box as they'll usually go back in their cage to use it. Another tip is to put their hay in the litter box as they often eat and poop at the same time. (:

    Best chewing solutions?

mine only really chews on apple tree branches. They're one of his favourite things. You cook them in the oven before giving it to them and it'll kill any parasites that could be in it.

    space needs for outdoor buns?

My rabbit won't stay on a piece of furniture at all. Always exploring. I think it's pretty normal.

This is exhausting but totally worth it.

You can use a match or lighter on the zip ties for a couple seconds after cutting it and it'll melt the ends so they aren't sharp at all. :)

    Sorry guys...

I haven't had a rabbit neutered so I can't say what happens after they're removed but I'd assume like other animals they tend to shrivel up and mostly go away.

    Sorry guys...

I'd say the same thing. I have a NON neutered male and you can definitely see testicles. I'd contact the person you got him from asap if possible and separate him from any females.

    How Often??????

I must be lazy I guess going by everyone elses responses. Litter box is usually every 4ish days, I change the sheet and level coverings in his condo/vacuum his area every 6-7 days unless he's shedding then it can be more. He's only litter trained for pee and half for poops so if I want a clean...

    Ferret Nation

For the first week we had my rabbit he lived in a single critter nation because we were still building his C&C cage and we attached a NIC grid pen around the front of it, including blocking off underneath(as we actually stored stuff there) and he was fine. If you had a very small breed who had a...
