    New Year Bunny Resolutions

My bunny emergency kit includes 6cc syringes, 1cc syringes, a feeding syringe, 18g-, 22g-, and 25g-needles, surgical scalpels, electric clippers, stethoscope, rectal thermometer, gauze, vet wrap, vetericyn spray, neosporin, sterile gloves, simethicone drops, neomycin oral solution, petroleum...

    Question about male Rabbit Genitals?

I second the earlier post that spraying depends on the buck. Even neutered bucks can spray, but it is less likely, especially if they're neutered young. What exactly do you mean by his "private" being out. Do you mean his testicles have dropped or that his penis was extended? An exposed penis...

    Can You Guess??

Oops! Forgot about this!! Actually, she doesn't have a drop of Lionhead in her!!! Her dad's one of my Jersey Wooly bucks and her mom's my Mini Lop! Both are purebred and don;t have nay other breeds in their backgrounds. One of her littermates can actually be passed off as a Holland! Even some...

Avoiding "barn blindness" : What do you need to improve in your herd?

I've got the Woolies! =D I've got massive heads on bucks and does as well as ears that are between 2 1/4 and 1 1/2 inches. Shoulders are very short and wide, midsections are strong, topline on most is short and nicely rounded(though I do have a few out there with slipped HQ that I'm working...

    Can You Guess??

Can anyone guess what this rabbit is? She's a Seal, about 1 year old, and weighs 4 pounds. She has little wisps of wool on her flank and wool completely circling her head, with a longer peice that flips in front of her ear.

    English Spot? and ?

Ya, neither look a thing like English Spot. They sort of remind me of my Mini Rex mix, but they could be anything. Cute though! :)

    How does this work....

I agree that REWs would be very good in a Shaded program. I have never heard a true case of a REW causing color problems. My Siamese Sable buck carries the REW gene and his color is fantastic! My Blue Otter doe may be carrying shaded or REW, but her color is perfect as well. Anyway, good luck!!

The count down to JW babies

Good luck!! My REW Sr. Jersey Wooly doe is due in 2 1/2 weeks. She's bred to a Siamese Sable buck. I'm expecting Siamese Sables in solid or broken and REWs. Possibly some Smoke Pearls or Sable Points. I have high hopes for this litter!! The doe has 8 G.C. legs and the buck has 6 G.C. legs, 2 of...

Question about a color breeding Mini Rex

Ok, well theTri buck's genotype is A_B_C_D_ej_Enen. The Blue doe is aaBbC_ddE_. The Lilac Tort doe is aabbC_ddee. The Blue doe *might* carry the Tri gene, but she might not. The Lilac Tort does not. So, Tri buck X Blue doe would get Chestnut and Broken Checstnutkits. Then, depending on the...

    What's your favorite rabbit breed?

JERSEY WOOLIES!!!!! By far!!! I've met some nippy or nasty rabbits of many, many other breeds. Mostly Holland Lops, Netherland Dwarfs, Lionheads, and Brittania Petites though... But, all of my Woolies are the sweetest things in the world!! I can carry about 3-4 at a time and they'll just be...

    Double mane?

No, he's single-maned. If he was not born with bald patches, he is not double-maned. It looks like the only double-maned in that litter is the white one on the far left.

    Sanctioned shows?

You can get legs if your breed isn't sanctioned!! I've never taken my Jersey Woolies to a show where they were sanctioned. As long as it's sanctioned by ARBA, you get legs...

    English Spots

The ARBA site has a pic of a posed English Spot: http://www.arba.net/Breeds.htm

    walk me through this

Generally, what most people do is put the doe in the buck cage and watch to make sure nothing goes wrong. Once the doe lifts and the buck breeds her, the doe is removed and then occasionally returned for another breeding a few hours later. Whatever you decide to do, just be sure to NEVER take...

    Newbie question

It should be perfectly fine. Siblings are often bred together to bring out the best traits in a line. Rabbits are also bred back to parents and most pedigrees will have the same rabbit(s) show up more than once. All these rabbits also have "4 legs, 2 ears, eyes, nose, cute, furry" Lol! =D

    question about genetics?

I had an unplanned litter between a Mini Lop and a Jersey Wooly. One kit had completely lopped ears and a Wooly coat...so kinda like a Wooly Lop! Lol! Another had a mane like a Lionhead and erect ears. The rest had normal fur coats, but some had erect ears and others had sort of "helicopter"...

    what color is she?

Yup, I agree that she looks like a Smoke Pearl.
  18. RabbitLover94

My two new lionheads--just got them today :)

Ya, I'd definately say Sable Point Marten. The difference between a Sable Point and a Sable Point Marten is that Martens have white eye circles/nose/belly/triangle behind ears/ear lacing while a Sable Point does not.

    Dwarf Hotot

Also, keep in mind that with every Hotot litter, you get many "mismarks." No matter what you do, there will always be rabbits with more than just the eyeliner that will have to sold off as brood only or as pets.

    Jersey Wooly Breeders

I'll be sticking to Self, Shaded, and Tan Pattern. Also the brokens of those varieties. I'll NEVER breed Agouti or AOV Jersey Woolies. I just don't really like those colors.... Unless of course I come across one super hot JW in those groups...then I don't think I could help myself. Lol! =D
