    Help: Bunny in stasis? (resolved!)

Just an update, Racer is fine now, pooping and peeing a lot, poops are still smallish but greener and grassier. He eats all his hay. I've reduced his pellets drastically, he's finally finished shedding and seems to be back to normal!

    Help: Bunny in stasis? (resolved!)

Wow i gave him much more than that. I better reduce it, well he's only had it the one time, his poops are starting to look greener and grassier now, im down to the last serving of Critical care as of today. Tomorrow he'll be back on a mix of veggies (mint, dill, parsley, carrot tops), pellets...

    Help: Bunny in stasis? (resolved!)

Quick Update: Almost finished feeding him the Critical Care, his poop is slowly gaining size and the colour of the poop is not so dark and more green now. So far no sight of hair in the poop which is a plus. He wasnt drinkning too much water but the critical care i mixed a 4:1 ratio of...

    Help: Bunny in stasis? (resolved!)

Thanks Pam, unfortunately not much is available to rabbit owners in Australia. Critical Care from Oxbow will have to do, i'll keep feeding Racer a mix of Critical Care and veggies and hay and hopefully his blockage will be fixed and his gut will return to normal.

    Help: Bunny in stasis? (resolved!)

Just a quick update: Racer still appears to be eating his hay, i have moved him off pellets this week, trying to get him to eat more hay and just drink more water. I attempted to give him Critical Care last night, he eat a little but then turned his head. I then mashed up some banana...

    Help: Bunny in stasis? (resolved!)

I assume when it says on the directions for critical care: "Directions for Use: As a general guideline, mix 1 part Critical Care to 2 parts warm water. The volume of water may be adjusted to obtain optimal feeding consistency. Amounts are general guidelines and should be adjusted based on...

elrohwen wrote: Unfortunately critical care doesnt arrive till Friday, so for now, i've given him A LOT of hay, water and fresh leafy vegetables. He has been somewhat avoiding his pellets, but thats fine as he seems to be eating up his dill, mint, celery, celery leaf, carrot and parsley...

    Help: Bunny in stasis? (resolved!)

I may still try pineapple if it'll mean Racer gets more fluids into him which can only do him good. Unfortunately in Australia they dont sell tinned pureed pumpkin, only pumpkin soups...this country only recently got canned chicken!

    Help: Bunny in stasis? (resolved!)

yeah that scared the crap outta me just then but also made me laugh because my rabbits would be dead if carrots and spinich were not allowed. Carrots are fed sparingly, like they gets mostly carrot tops, but the small amount of carrot that they do get is usually the size of a couple carrot...

    Help: Bunny in stasis? (resolved!)

Sweet, awesome advice, i've already just went and bought some pinapple juice and already have the Critical care: As he's currently eating his treats still, and definately pooping and peeing, i'll do this for now: - Mix pinapple juice with water to get him drinking - Critical care mixed...

Racer lives life in the fast lane!

Hi there, Just an update, its been a while: Racer and LeeHom were living happily together for about a month, but unforunately together they were creating a HUGE mess in the house, including far more shedding, pee everywhere, poops not in trays, flipping bowls and all sorts of mischief...

    Help: Bunny in stasis? (resolved!)

Racer (my bunny) has never really been a big drinker, i cleaned his cage yesterday and have noticed he's peed a few times already, soaking the corner of his litter tray so its a good sign he's drinking if he's peeing i guess! So with critical care you suggest soaking it with more water than the...

    Help: Bunny in stasis? (resolved!)

Cool, im just not sure how i can coerce him to let me give him a tummy rub without his kicking all over the place! I have also observed his poops are a lot smaller and much darker. The used to be larger, more round, grassier in colour/texture, now they're dark, hard and small.
