Simply_Love wrote: Okay, some apparently I can't edit things on this forum after 12 minutes.. so I want to correct it and say I ment some vets, though I've only heard of it in the UK, not experienced vets. I was tired, sorry for the confusion!

Rat at my shelter with head tilt

undergunfire wrote: Oh, you ment 10-14 days, then switch drugs if you're not seeing improvement? I thought you ment only use for 10-14 days, then stop treatment completely. Yes, most vets will switch after 10-14 days if no improvement is seen, and even sooner if they get worse. I misread...

Rat at my shelter with head tilt

Actually, many meds(baytril and doxy included) should be given at minimum for 14 days, 21 and even 28 days being the best option. Google the Rat Guide and find the dosing chart on the website. It will tell you the recommended lengths of meds. He should be fine being on meds that long :) I've had...

The Earth is not your personal ashtray!

Happi Bun wrote: In all honesty, I would call the police directly and see if they would be willing to go over and check it out. If they are under 18, maybe they can scare them into not smoking( threatening with fines if they don't stop maybe?). They really shouldn't be smoking at all if...

I love them too, but during the school year I'm usually too busy to set them up in the morning, and during the summer it's too hot :( I've decided this year sunday is "make yummy breads and soup day" haha Grr, eight more days till I'm home and can make that garlic and herb bread! Oh and...

The Earth is not your personal ashtray!

Argh, I detest smokers. If they do it away from people. I don't care. But if they're doing it ten feet from me, I have an issue. If you don't have an issue poisoning yourself, that's your deal, but do NOT endanger my health and the health of those around you who choose not to smoke. (No offense...

    The life of a rat

Happi Bun wrote: Haha, we can trade ;) Don't get me wrong, I adored my Critter Nation when it was a two level, since it was like a giant 695. However, my little Bella had some neurological issues two months ago, and now has very limited use of her back legs(her feet kind of "push"her...

    Dairy free bread recipes

I would! I'm vegan, and it is so hard to find a good bread that isn't expensive without eggs, milk or honey. Do you're recipes have eggs in them? If so, that's fine. I can experiment with egg replacers to make them vegan :)

    The life of a rat

Happi Bun: Jealous :grumpy:I want that cage. My four live in a Critter Nation, but I'm still itching for a Martin's. I'm currently scheming how I can get one :P My current plan is to convince my dad that since it has a handle and weighs less, I would go down to visit him more since I wouldn't...

"You have way too many pets, though..."

Oh how I love the expression on peoples faces when I say I have four rats, two cats and two dogs :P Hehe, they seem to think I have some sort of zoo. My bestie is so use to it now. People will be all, "OH MY GOSH, she has how many animals at her house?!?" and she is like, "Oh, I don't think she...

    bunns with rats?

Oh dear, oh dear, is this seriously going to turn into a "rats are disease carrying vermin" thing? Most rats, both pet and wild, do not carry diseases that are transferable. Viruses are typically species specific, and the ones that can be transfered through species are rare. Unless the rats in...

    Are single buns alright?

Aww thank you! I'm hoping I'll be 100% prepared when she arrives :) I guess I'll keep her as a solo bun then. Once I move out, I'll do a few "bunny dates" with her to see how she responds to other rabbits, but if she seems uninterested, I'll just keep her as a solo. Thank you! :)
