    runny nose/sneezing

We did keep him cool. Our bunnies have fans and constant ice bottles. The vet said it was an infection, not really sure what caused it. He will be on a 14 day antibiotic.

    runny nose/sneezing

Our little guy Kirk (Netherland Dwarf mix, 4 years old, male) started sneezing last night. Today he has a runny nose with white mucous. We are taking him to the vet first thing in the morning (they are closed today). Is there anything we should be doing to help him in the mean time?

Death of a bunny in a bonded pair

Thanks for all of the responses. After a lot of thought and consideration, we decided to adopt another bunny from a local shelter. We took Tank on a few dates with some bunnies, until she clicked with a male bunny named Kirk. I will post pictures later when I get home.

    Rest in paradise Oreo

Our bunny Oreo passed away unexpectedly this morning. She injured her foot yesterday by being a rascal and jumping off the couch. She seemed fine at first, but was limping a little bit last night. We felt for broken bones and there were none, but she had started chewing at the injury. We cleaned...

Death of a bunny in a bonded pair

Today one of our bunnies (Oreo) passed away rather unexpectedly at the vets. She had injured her foot last night and seemed okay, but passed away in the waiting room at the vet's office. Oreo was part of a bonded pair with our other bunny Tank. I started doing research as to what to do for the...

    Bunny Neglect at Flea Market

I attended 7 Mile Fair in Caledonia, WI for the first time today. It is basically a giant flea market that also sells pets. I was appalled at the condition of the bunnies from one of the vendors. I have emailed both the vendor and 7 Mile Fair directly, but I am hoping if more people help out and...

Went out for s'mores, came home with a bunny-RIP

Unfortunately this story does not have a happy ending. :( S'more has had some problems since bringing her home (overgrown teeth, fleas, etc), but on Sunday morning I noticed ring worms that weren't there on Saturday. All the vets were closed, so we were going to bring her in first thing on...

Went out for s'mores, came home with a bunny-RIP

Okay, so we are officially keeping her. :) We had to talk it over for a few days since we already have two bunnies and a cat, but decided what's one more bunny? She has adapted really well and seems to fit right in. :dutch

Went out for s'mores, came home with a bunny-RIP

Okay, so here are some more pictures of her. S'more's white fur is still a little bit dirty, as are her paws, but we are working on that. S'more & Oreo S'more sleeping S'more close up and flopped...

Went out for s'mores, came home with a bunny-RIP

Last night my boyfriend and I walked to the gas station to pick up supplies for s'mores. Half way there, he spotted a little Dutch bunny in the neighbor's yard. We could tell something was up because she was really dirty. He knocked on the neighbor's door to ask if it was his and he said no, but...

tonyshuman wrote: She's pretty much back to normal already. She was eating food as soon as we got her home, which was good because the vet wasn't sure how long it would be before she ate because she wouldn't eat the hay at the vet's office. Today she is eating, digging, hopping everywhere...

Wisconsin State Fair Bunnies! (and poultry)

Ugh, you just had to post the cute pictures. I live about 10 minutes from State Fair grounds and have never actually gone to it. I have been debating going this year, but couldn't find a good reason... well now I have one. I may have to make a trip down to see the bunnies. I showed rabbits...

Mad about the Petland situation? Do something about it!

I never heard of Petland before this thread, but I definitely sent them an e-mail. I am glad to hear that the store was closed down and there were charges brought about.

    moveable lump on stomach

Haley wrote: The thing that irritates me is that the vet and another receptionist wrote specific rabbit instructions on the surgery schedule next to my name, so that they would get the information correct. They even highlighted the info so the person would see it and they still got it wrong. I...

    moveable lump on stomach

Well now I wait again. When the receptionist called to remind us last night of the appointment, she said to pull Tank's food at midnight, so we did. When I got home from work to take her to the vet, she had diarrhea. I took her to the vet anyways. They told me that the receptionist had messed...

    moveable lump on stomach

swingtown wrote: Well I talked to the vet some more last night. She said Tank's liver count was supposed to be at around 20 and hers was 223, so that is a bit scary. She goes in for surgery this afternoon to get the tumor removed. :pray:The vet seems to think the liver count will even itself...
