    Snickers cam now up!

I do turn the light out over the cage at night, which is why the camera only broadcasts a black image. I try to keep it up during the day though!

    Snickers cam now up!

My fiancee is sick at home and misses seeing our rabbit, so I set up a webcam so she can watch him do what he does. Here is the link: Snix cam Enjoy!

Litter training: Snix is peeing in the litterbox, but not pooing.

I know that they poo to mark sometimes, but snix (neutered male) is generally pretty neat, and will pee in his litterbox. However, when it comes to pooing, he has selected a "poo zone", in which he will sit and do his thing. The Poo Zone is circled in red below: The poos in his litterbox...

Snix has gone into stasis after his neutering

The liquid she drained from the abcess was clear instead of cloudy or puss, so she said that she thinks it will heal. She gave us some anti-biotics to give to him to help. She thinks it may have been caused by stress. She did not give him a shot (after the surgery) in the area the abcess...

Snix has gone into stasis after his neutering

Well the good news is that it is not infected. The bad news is that it is an abcess. :(. This neuter has been stressful for all of us, especially for Snickers. I'll be happy when this is behind us and Snickers is back to 100%.

Snix has gone into stasis after his neutering

OK new problem: Snix is recovering well from the surgery, and is very active and eating/drinking./pooing like normal. I noticed he was limping around on one front leg, so I picked him up to inspect. He has an infected sore on his right front leg. Could this be from the shots?? He is going...

Snix has gone into stasis after his neutering

Thanks for all of the wishes and advice. Snix is back home and is doing much better. We spiked his water with a shot of organic apple juice and it is encouraging him to drink. He has started pooing again and he is more active than yesterday (albeit still not his old self, as expected). He isn't...

Snix has gone into stasis after his neutering

OK the vet wants us to bring him in for observation. We will see what happens. I hope he starts to turn for the better :(.

Snix has gone into stasis after his neutering

The vet gave him a shot that was supposed to relieve pain, but i'm thinking he needs more than that.

Snix has gone into stasis after his neutering

We noticed that Snix was not eating or pooing much after his surgery, so we took him back the next day and the vet confirmed stasis. She provided a powder called "Herbavore critical care", and instructed us to give him 25ml of water mixed with the power 3 times a day. She also gave him a shot...

    Snickers was litterbox trained

Snickers is just over 4 months old. Yesterday he was very good about peeing in his litterbox, but he has been pooing everywhere, which is much easier to deal with. He must be experiencing waves of hormones flowing through his body. April 6th will not come soon enough!

    Snickers was litterbox trained

That's what we had to do when we started training him. It's like a switch was flipped and suddenly he will not use his litterbox. We used to be able to let him out without worry, but yesterday we let him out when we got home like normal, and he began pooing and peeing all over the carpet...

    Snickers was litterbox trained

As of yesterday, he refuses to use his litterbox. No changes have been made at all. He spends most of his time in his litterbox, but now leaves to urinate in the cage. I'm assuming this is a result of him reaching puberty. He is unaltered, but this will soon change.

Snix doesn't eat much hay like he used to

Yeah he always has hay and pellets available. He has started eating his hay again which is nice to see. I saw plenty of poos in the litterbox this morning so perhaps it was just a weird phase.

Snix doesn't eat much hay like he used to

well we cleaned his cage today and noticed that about an hour later there were no fecal pellets in the litterbox. The cage was clean too, not one to be found. So I was concerned again, and watched him. He is grabbing the poo right as it comes out, and eating it. I found this out because he...

Snix doesn't eat much hay like he used to

Last night he just wanted to lay in his litterbox, occasionally eating pellets and drinking some water. This morning he was back to his old self. He grabbed a few pieces of hay while I was sitting there but we will see in the next few days. He was doing his morning binkies which was nice to...

Snix doesn't eat much hay like he used to

You guys guessed it: molar spurs. We had the vet file them down and he is back home recovering from the trauma. Thanks again for the advice! You guys helped make him a happy bun again!

I have a vet appointment scheduled for this afternoon. I will let you guys know what transpires.

Snix doesn't eat much hay like he used to

Thank you for the replies. I have noticed that he has started acting like he is chewing something big when he is just sitting still and not eating anything. I'll have his teeth examined ASAP.
