JR MR Broken Black Doe *pic heavy*

I wouldn't mess with posing brood does unless it is just to handle them. I guess it depends on how many you have and how much time you have to spare!

What do you think of these Mini Rex?

They are pretty nice from what I can tell. The doe is a little pinched in the hind end, but she could easily fill out in the next few months. I see that they are both out of brokens, so do a fine inspection for white hairs and tiny white spots (and nails). I had a very nice black buck out of a...

    Butterfly

That's so true- I just had a really nice buck get dq'd for his tail being broken. No idea how it happened, but I never noticed it before the judge pointed it out!

I LOVE it, and I've used a few.

Also it's not that they have to have 50% color, they can't have over 50% or less than 1-% I think it is. I don't have the standard in front of me sorry.

    Transport cages??

Check out Woody's Wabbits too for cages- I know they ship some, and their cages are reasonable.

    Mini rex babies!

I hate to say it too, but the indicators you are speaking of with the runt point to peanut. It's actually a good thing to have peanuts- shows that you have true dwarfs. I have had peanuts hang on for a week, but they just slowly starve. The photo with all the babies shows the dominant backbone...

    standard rex breeding problems

Just so you know, it's not unusual for a doe to not want to breed during winter. I live in Western Oregon, so we're a little ahead of you with warm weather, but my does just started cooperating about a month ago.

    Grooming table

If you have you carrying cages on a table at shoes, you can just get a carpet sample and put it on top of the cages to do grooming.

    First Home Bred Wins

It's funny too because it all happened at once. Almost all of my seniors started to molt within a week of each other!

    First Home Bred Wins

Yes, I was particularly pleased because broken is a very difficult variety to win here. We had the #1 NMRRC winners at the show, and they are also #1 in brokens. The show was in Redmond, Oregon. I have photos on my list- need to do it before these two follow suit and blow their coats like...

    First Home Bred Wins

I attended a double show last Saturday and I'm so pleased that I made the drive to go. The first buck that I kept from a litter to be a herd buck won BOV for broken mini rex. He then went on to win BOS mini rex. I couldn't be more pleased! My senior lilac doe also took BOV in both shows...

    Ovarian cancer

I'm curious what the study specifics were that came up with 80% as a number. Does anyone have a link? I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with it simply because I have been taught to research where your information is coming from before making an informed decision.

ARBA National Convention - not allowed to bring rabbits..

If I were you I would look for some local clubs and contact some breeders outside the show. As was mentioned, rabbits at the convo will likely be over priced. Going to a smaller local show might be a better option for you. edited to add: Here is the local club for you Riverside...
