A whole new world with my Noodle.

Oh, I meant to say: Muffin's favourite toy is a cardboard box with two holes cut out for doors! If you cut another hole in that box in the last picture I bet Noodle will love it.

A whole new world with my Noodle.

I strongly recommend reading through the articles in the 'Lagomorph Library' section of the forum, they were terrifically helpful when I first got Muffin! Noodle is so lovely, you are a lucky owner!

    Less 'destructible' toys

We have a tunnel for Muffin that is made of wooden dowels so that it's bendable. It's fruit and vegetable flavoured and he loves to gnaw on it, but it'll take him about a year to get through it!

    Inside buns...

I just wanted to say hang in there, you are doing a great job! It sounds like you have had a really terrible year and you are being very strong. I would be having a nervous breakdown with 6 rabbits in the house! Things will get better and you are doing the right thing by asking for help.

    The New TRUTH Plan

Muffin update: He had his VHD shot on Saturday and was a bit quiet and subdued until this morning (Tuesday). Now he's running up and down his hutch! I think tonight we'll have a big run and play. :bunnynurse:

    The New TRUTH Plan

Muffin just got his VHD jab (we can't get a myxo shot here, unfortunately) and they did it in the back leg. He was pretty subdued for a couple of days after, he didn't want to jump around or eat much, he just sat quietly and let me stroke him. I figure it's like when we have a flu jab--...

Need Some Advice About Bunnies 8-10 weeks old

I can't comment on bonding rabbits, but we got our Nethie mix at 6 weeks (from a pet store, this was before I knew anything about rabbits) and it only took him about a week to decide where his pooping & peeing spot was. Now he uses the litterbox happily. He is very active but has a mellow...

    Received my first rabbit bite

Muffin loves to lick our toes and every now and then he will give a gentle nip, like he just checking to see if we're edible yet...

    Anyone Feel Like I do?

This is a bit off topic but for those of you are say you have no friends and feel lonely, have you considered volunteering at a shelter? You would meet lots of people with the same interests and passions as you.

    Bunnies Diets

I don't know how readily available or cheap this is where you live, but Muffin LOVES bok choy (a Chinese green vegetable) and it's on the safe list. It's pretty cheap in Australia. I also give him broccoli and baby spinach leaves, but in smaller amounts because they contain a lot of calcium.

    feed frustration

aurora369 wrote: Thanks Dawn! Yes, it's definitely hay, and Muffin really enjoys it (though not as much as fresh grass-- the cheapest rabbit treat ever)!

    feed frustration

The only place I know of that sells hay (in Perth) is City Farmers, and they just have one kind. When I asked what kind of hay it was the sales guy looked at me like I was crazy and said, "It's just hay!" :rollseyes It's yellow too, not green like you all say it should be, and really coarse, but...

what's a good breed to have as your first rabbit?

We got our bunny from a pet store, not knowing what breed they were (I think he may be a Nethie cross now). I'm not sure I would do this again, having learnt from this forum how many buns need rescuing, but this was pre-forum. My boyfriend (who has had many pets, including a rabbit, and who is...

    Can they live outside?

johnnyRabbit wrote: I think that some of us a bit sensitive to the idea of meat rabbits, just like you probably would be if someone talked to you about keeping dogs for meat! But I think it's great that you want to be humane to all animals, I respect that.

    First lick

Muffin has turned into the lickiest rabbit ever! When I come out to see him and freshen his feed and hay in the morning, I put my hand up to his hutch and he licks my fingers all over as though he's cleaning them! Then after a while he puts his head down to be scratched, and then starts licking...

    A very unpopular view

I just wanted to thank everyone for posting here. Not that I had any plans to breed rabbits, but I had no idea that it was such an ordeal and so dangerous. It makes sense, or course; they breed so easily, quickly and early that the world would be flooded with them if every birth was successful...

    Clipping of nails?

Muffin badly needs his nails clipped, my arm is starting to look like I've been wrestling cats! We decided to take him to the vet to be groomed, and we will watch. Then next time we'll try it ourselves. I'm terrified of cutting the quick so it's good to know there's something I can put on the...

    Can they live outside?

Dublinperky: meat rabbits are rabbits raised for meat, not as pets.
