    Rattle in Holland does chest.

Hi there, I would be concerned too, it sounds very likely she has some sort of respiratory distress. Even if there's no discharge from her nose she may have pneumonia. Sounds like she needs that vet visit for sure and maybe a course of proper antibiotics. I would stay away from 'cream soda' or...

    Pebbles 06/23/04 - 05/14/10

Happy birthday little Pebbles. Stan I feel your pain, I really loved Pebbles through your posts and wonderful photos. To echo what many others have said, there is a hole here now that cannot be filled and she is hugely missed by all.

    Red

I don't have much to add except that the choking does not seem too normal in any rabbit, let alone two. I will try and look up some info on that.... I had one rabbit that ate his pellets extremely fast, I was concerned about choking so to slow him down I put three plastic Easter eggs in his...

    Sammi in stasis. (Resolved)

How is Sammi doing? I don't think you mentioned anything anything about what the condition of her teeth are like. I take note of the pattern you described in your first post about how she stopped eating, because in my experience that is so typical of a molar spur bunny. Sometimes those spurs...

    Reoccuring Eye Problem

Did your vet ever end up doing the culture? If not that would be my own next step before any more antibiotics. Since it has been an issue for a year now it could be an ongoing infection. The anti-inflammatory drops won't hurt him. I would be giving it to him daily until some of that puffiness...

    Goodbye little buddy

Hi Maureen, that photo of Beau drinking his pedialyte is really cute. He is a sweetheart. Sass used to drink his medicine just like that too, it was the highlight of his day also. I am really sorry he is gone, and that you are hurting. I know just what it is like so if you ever want to chat I...

    bloating in rabbits??

Having lost a bun to bloat this year, there were a few things I noted that may be of help to you. 1) Pipp's post on Dana Krempel's theory seems very likely. "But because the rabbit intestine just posterior to the stomach takes a very sharp turn, it appears that if the stomach has even a...

    Fur-in-poop (general question)...

I have seen the fur present over a month after the last shed, I think sometimes it takes a very long time for it to pass through the system. I don't think that it means there is a health issue although rabbits that do not pass hair in their stool at all even during sheds may have a problem.

Blockage? Help. Been 8 days since last BM.

Hi there, can you repost your question with some of the information outlined in this post: http://www.rabbitsonline.net/view_topic.php?id=44529&forum_id=16 This sounds like a medical emergency that needs attention as soon as possible, please take her to the vet as soon as you can. Does your...

    Decision to euthanize...please help. (RIP)

pinupchick wrote: Of course, we would ALWAYS second guess ourselves when we are faced with the decision to PTS. If you hadn't, and he died suddenly you would have wished you PTS. And on the other hand, when you PTS you wonder if he would have recovered. It is totally natural and expected to...

    I think something's wrong...but I'm not sure which bun!

Hi there, excessive drinking is often a sign that something is going on with the kidneys. However, the drip bottles often aren't a good indication of how much water is actually getting IN the rabbit. Like you mentioned, they drip. The best way to see how much they are drinking is by how much...

    Smokies wont eat - RESOLVED

Hi I noticed you recently introduced oat hay to their diet. One thing I have noticed is that many rabbits I encountered do not do well with oat hay. I have no idea why, but for a couple it caused GI stasis. I would give her all the wet parsley she can eat. If that is all she wants, that is ok...

    Acting Funny/Bad Poop (RIP Lola)

I am really glad you are taking her to the emergency vet. They will do everything necessary for her, and I bet they run a blood panel. To me this doesn't sound like typical stasis, it sounds more like renal failure or even possibly liver failure. Sometimes it can come on so quick, and caused...

    Lumps under Lop ears, normal?

Hi there, as others have mentioned some bump or cartilage in that exact area is very normal. However what you are describing sounds very much like a mid to inner ear infection brewing inside, especially if it feels warm to the touch. I am sure the vet will have a good look tomorrow and if it is...

    Goodbye Zeke

Hi Dawn, I am sorry to hear of the loss of Zeke. He was a really sweet boy and I enjoyed meeting him at your place in the Summer. RIP little Zeke :bunnyangel2:

    glaucoma in rabbits

I cannot say for sure that the Voltarin has helped Chloe's eyes, but he certainly has not developed irritation/infection etc since receiving the drops. They were prescribed by an opthamologist and apparently it is a very safe and excellent medication in the prevention of glaucoma. I do not know...

    glaucoma in rabbits

Hi there, I also have a rabbit with cataracts in both eyes. The thing about *most* cataracts in rabbits however, is that they can still partially see with a mature cataract. Very rarely does a rabbit appear to be completely blinded. Most of the time they can detect a change in light, and they...

Worried for my bunny boy (RIP)

MagnoliaDee wrote: This concerns me a bit as even with an inactive rabbit, the gut should not be continuously fill with gas. I would keep him on the Ovol as many as 4 doses a day. In truth, that stuff does no harm at all. It will help break up those bubbles. I would start to suspect...

    (R.I.P) Strange paralysis after neuter

I am really sorry to hear about his passing. I have no idea what could have happened, but most rabbits that pass away unexpectedly after a neuter had a genetic defect of some sort, or had an undetected illness. There wasn't anything that can be done. I hope your search for a new partner for Tom...
