    slight head tilt

I actually just learned a really neat trick about head tilt ( but too bad I can't remember it!). One of the top rabbit savvy vets here told me he watches which way the eye moves. If it moves horizontal vs vertical, it indicates if its an ear infection or it its neurological. I'm a new mom of a...

Starting a Rabbit Rescue in Richmond BC?

Lol you sound just like me! I have 17 rabbits (10 are UVic rescues) and I too work at a vet clinic but on the north shore. Let me know if you're going to need help fund-raising or any rabbit rescuing! April

    Long-term hock abscess

When I picked up my stray Uvic bunny.. she had two mass abscesses hanging off her right hind ankle. Xrays showed it had seeped into the bone. At the time, the option was to amputate.. but my vet wanted to try and save her leg. He had told me a combination of penecillian injections + zithromax...

    Heterochromia

Whoops! The other dutch baby has heterochromia too! Partial heterochromia actually. The black one with blue eyes- One of her eyes is actually half brown half blue. And the other one is completely blue. There are also three harlequins in this litter.. talk about a variety pack!

    Heterochromia

Thanks! I looked up the vienna gene.. The mom is an orange rabbit but she had two dutch cross babies. One is a black and white dutch x with blue eyes, and the other is a salt and pepper dutch x with the one blue eye and one brown eye.

    Heterochromia

One of my 9 week old baby bunnies from Uvic has heterochromia. She has one blue eye and one brown eye! But neither her mom or her seven siblings show a dominant trait. So because I don't know if its hereditary or not.. how do I know if her heterochromia is caused by something problematic?

    Glucosamine + Chondroitin Supplements

Is a glucosamine and/orchondroitin supplement ok for a rabbit to have? I'm asking because of my rabbit, Sydney.. a stray little bun whom I caught 6 weeks ago. She had a fused ankle and an infected hip. Although the infection is cleared now,her fused ankle could cause longterm problems.

Should we aim for another trip? Not necessarily for pulling any rabbits.

    Hope for the UVic rabbits?

MugShotHollands: These rabbits are extremely social. They are very used to people, and are well known for climbing up your leg and munching on veggies just inches away. The two I have are more friendly than my all my rabbits combined. So please don't go around saying awful things like that...

    UVIC rabbit rescue operation

He's staying in the clinic until Tuesday. Then he will need a bandage change. He can only eat gastro or i/d. So he must not touch Sky's food!

    UVIC rabbit rescue operation

I'm at work right now.. been here all day. And I've been fighting with a woman to surrender her cat to me. This cat came in for a euthanisa over a tail abcess. Oh the joys of working in a clinic! He's in my care now, and a mere $150 vet bill (I had everything done for him! Vaccines, tattoo...

How recent was the internal trauma? Like at Uvic, or from two bunnies being placed two per carrier?

    UVIC rabbit rescue operation

Two of the rabbits rescued from the 14 group stayed in Victoria (I believe at Alexia's house?). And I didn't know two passed away during surgery.. why such a high rate?

Trip Planning - post Aug. 19

Finally caught up on my sleep from the Tuesday night trip. How's the tan one? Is it a boy or a girl.. maybe I should break even with 20 rabbits .. hah. Is the injunction still in place? Are we going for another pull or what's happening?

    UVIC rabbit rescue operation

There's Sidney, Evie, Harley, Mac, Neil, Ellie, and Darcy. Then Darcy's three babies, and Evie's eight babies. The 14 that were pulled on Sunday. And the 9 that were pulled yesterday. That equals 41! Man I really liked that tan guy we caught. He was eating pellets out of my hands when we...

    Stray rabbit may be pregnant

They are growing SO FAST! So only had them two days ago, and the babies are three times their size and they all have fur. A couple of them have their ears standing up already. I guess feral bun buns develop fast! I know I'm seriously behind on pictures, but I feel like if I update a pic...
