    Rabbit ID

The picture is far away, but she looks like a broken chinchilla (variety, not breed). It's hard to tell from the photo, but is her fur very shiny? Like a Satin? Definitely not a Checkered Giant or English Spot.

    New Breed - need advice!

Sorry that I'm late to the thread, but I thought I would comment anyway... I have to ditto what Sarah said. At the high end of competition there are some absolutely gorgeous animals. But because of their popularity as pets there are a lot of poor quality animals out there. Also, prices are much...

    More Tan cuteness

The litter ended up being two does and one buck. All three went to Convention and one of the does had BOB. :) The buck (along with two black does) went to a judge/friend from Tennessee who is getting started in Tans, so that is pretty amazing. It's really great that the breed has grown so much...

So you think you own an English Spot?

I love you even more than before. :) This is something that always annoys me on rescue website. Way to educate in a positive way!

BOB awards, what works, what doesn't?

The Great Lakes club in Michigan gave away water bottles customized with the award name and the club logo for BOB/BOS at their June show and I think they told me in bulk they were only a couple dollars each.

    More Tan cuteness

I haven't posted here in a long time, but the other Tan threads (<3) made want to post this incredibly cute picture of a little chocolate baby: Both parents are blacks. I'm never shocked when I get chocolates, blues or even the occasional lilac in my black to black litters. But I was a little...

    Baby Tans

I haven't really been on here or on facebook much lately, so I'm a little behind. But I'm glad he's doing well. I know he is very special to you.

    My Tans!

It looks like two blacks and two chocolates to me.

    Breeders - Contract Legal Q's

Contracts are civil, not criminal. In criminal law your recourse is the State. The State can prosecute at their discretion when a crime is committed. In civil cases, if you are not able to come to a solution with the other party you can only get a remedy (whatever it may be) by filing a civil...

    Breeders - Contract Legal Q's

I'm not a lawyer, but I am a graduating law school in a few weeks. I wrote my own sales contract and even having had both Contracts and Contract Drafting in school I found the process time consuming. Anyone can write a contract with whatever conditions they want. That doesn't mean the terms will...

    Baby Tans

In England they do not have the same disqualifications we have in the United States. Many of the cosmetic disqualifications that we have here that do not truly affect the rabbit's health are not disqualified over there. As a result, most breeds that that strong import heritage have "issues" with...

    Baby Tans

I'm supposed to be on the lookout for a local 4-Her for a hopping Tan. They would prefer a buck, but I can call them and see if they would take a doe. Can you let me know how much you want and I get you guys in touch with one another? You can email me privately. I don't think they have email...

    Baby Tans

Yeah, I've been at home sick for a few days so I've been bored and randomly got on here today. It's been a while for sure! :) I know we talked and we're good. I just know others reading this were not privy to our conversation, so I wanted to post something since my name was associated with the...

    Baby Tans

Hey guys, Kelly here. I have raised Tans since the early-mid 90s and have produced hundreds of Tans in that time. I have had two white toenails. One was on a blue and out of non-Joe Kim rabbits. White or light toenails happen fairly commonly on all dilutes of all breeds. I have only had one...

    Is he a Holland Lop?

Here is anothergood picture of a Holland that should show you the difference: http://www.feldsroyalrabbitry.com/hlrsc/Articles/judginghollandlops.html

    What breed is my baby?

She's beautiful and may have some Brit in here, but I would say she looks more like a Polish. I did raise Brits and yes, they really are terrors. Mean little guys.

Where did your bunnies' names come from?

haha...I forgot to mention my fiance, Peter's rabbits - Ferdinand and Isabella. She also has a Marie Antoinette. They are all Ruby Eyed White Jersey Woolies and the babies are going to be named after ski resorts -- Aspen, Breckenridge, Paoli, Vail, etc.

Where did your bunnies' names come from?

After 14 years of having rabbits and 12 years of breeding them, I started running out of names. For some reason I always named pets human names like Emma or Michael, not Oreo or Floppsy. (Not that there is anything wrong with those names, just not my preference) Now I'm resorted to themes for...

    Dumb Rabbit Questions

The ARBA is actually the governing body for cavies in the United States. It was formerlly called the American Rabbit and Cavy Breeder Association and they dropped the word Cavy at some point. If you attendthe ARBA national convention you will see both rabbits and cavies shown. As far as dumb...

    Too sick

I would explain to these people that rabbits are not a money making venture, at all. Any breeder can tell you that. Even high quality show rabbits that are soldfor higher amounts do not barely make up the amount of money you spend to produce them. I raise a meat breed (New Zealands)for show...
