    Need a little support

Thank you for your kind and supportive replies! I feel better now the anniversary of his death has past. I know the two bunnies I have now need me, but it's just not the same. Hopefully the hurt will fade with time. A friend told me the passing of a loved one leaves a big hole in your heart...

    worried abt bun's declining health

Hershey had a seizure that lasted about 15 seconds, when it stopped he was dead. He had been on some pretty good pain meds for a couple of weeks prior. I'd suggest calling your vet and see if you can at least get some pain meds to keep him comfortable until he passes.

    Need a little support

I rarely come around here anymore, but am feeling really down today and need a little support from people who understand. One year ago today my heart bunny passed away. I got Hershey when he was 7 weeks old. He was 10.5 when he passed. I found myself sobbing so loudly that Ditto hid under...

    Emergency please help asap!

Thank you for the replies, they are very heartening! Dx was cataracts, mature in left eye, a very small one in her right. No sign of infection or abscess, right eye otherwise healthy. Left eye's pressure slightly low so she put her on Prednisone gtts with a return visit in 3 weeks...

    Emergency please help asap!

Too late to call, no vets were still open. I did find one on the HRS page. Intend to call first thing in the a.m. Do cataracts develop very quickly? We were wondering about glaucoma as she has a history of clear, benign drainage from that eye.

    Emergency please help asap!

So we are vacationing in Orlando Florida for a few weeks. We have been here a few days and tonight noticed Nestle's left eye looks like this: This happened so suddenly! Just a grey cloudy area where the pupil should be. Please need suggestions for a vet! Thanks for any help!

    Family Friends?

Thanks for the reply! I don't know if this clinic has dealt with rabbits before. Anything special I should know/ask them about?

    Family Friends?

Anyone bring their bunny to Family Friends Vet Clinic in Grand Rapids, Mi ? Anyone have experience using acupuncture or cold laser with their bunny? My old bunny is having issues with arthritis and is losing the ability to move his back legs. My vet has him on Metcam and Tramadol which...

    Bat crazy bunny?

More about the crazy bunny: My husband swears she's psychotic! We got her from a rescuer who got her from someone who got her from someone on Craigslist. She was a year old when we got her and we have had her for 4 years now. At first she had a lot of cage aggression. I could NOT put...

    Spitting out meds

Thanks! I will try that next time. My other bunny takes meds so easily, I haven't had reason to try different things. Nestle is such a unique rabbit!

    Bat crazy bunny?

BTW, in case anyone was losing sleep over this, the vet said his best guess is (:dunno) that she has an extended soft pallet, which causes more constriction when she's emotional.

    Spitting out meds

Hey all! I'm back, with a resolution to stay more active. I kinda miss u guys. Any way I have a Holland lop female with a UTI on abx. Nessie is MUCH better, but is now a back to her little stinker self! Months ago when she had liquid meds she figured out how to spit it out. So I asked...

    Bat crazy bunny?

Thanks for the replies. That does make since. The last video is the sound she makes at the vet's. People can't believe a rabbit is making that noise. The first one she is sleeping, I wish I could see what she us dreaming about. I'm glad it's nothing to worry about.

    Bat crazy bunny?

Thanks for the reply. She is a Holland lop, and yes she does have a pushed in face. She has always been like this, though she doesn't always make noises. The vet took an xray and ruled out obstruction. The videos show her with different emotions and the sound changes depending on how she is...

    Aggressive behavior towards owner

My bunny used to hide under the bed, then jump out and bite my barefeet as I walked by. I stamped my feet loudly when she did this. That stopped the behavior quickly. She actually appeared to be embarrassed!

    Bat crazy bunny?

I'll admi I don't come around here much anymore, mostly when I'm stymied - like now. I'm putting this in the behaviors subject because the vet can't find anything wrong with her. She is a 4 year old neutered Holland lop. I've had her for 3 years, no idea of her history. She had some behavoir...

    Nestle

I got Nestle from a rescue when she was about 1 year old. She is now 2 years old. She was supposed to be Hershey's friend, but I gave up on trying to bond them. She loves to do "tricks" while I sit on the stairs and watch. She loves me to chase her and she loves craisins.
