Any tips for slowing down dental spurs?

That's really helpful, thank you. Do you know if orchard hay and orchard grass are the same thing?

Any tips for slowing down dental spurs?

My 1.5 year old Dutch mix gets spurs on her molars. There doesn't seem to be a reason for it, she eats hay, and her teeth don't look misaligned, but here we are. It only took 12 days since her latest dental to show signs of discomfort again. We're at 17 days now and I think she may need her...

Does this spay incision look normal?

She was spayed 10 days ago, and every day until now it's looked okay. A little bit bloody but no swelling and none of the.. crusty looking stuff. It's also now a little swollen in places, and red. Any thoughts?

Angora ate some of his wool

Thank you for your advice :) I've been keeping a close eye on him and he's doing fine, thankfully. I'm going to be monitoring him more closely for a while, just in case. And ALWAYS going to move his trimmed wool aside in the future!

Angora ate some of his wool

I was trimming my English Angoras wool, and to my horror he picked up a mouthful from the table, ran off with it, and ate it! I manage to get what was hanging from his mouth away from him, but he still chewed on and swallowed quite a lot. Should I be worried? Am I over reacting by posting this...

How long does a tongue ulcer take to heal?

Thank you for your reply :) So the vet looked in her mouth today, and said he couldn't see any signs of infection. But he also said he can't see the problem areas, as like you said she'd need to be sedated. The wound was quite deep, and he thinks she just needs more time to recover. He pointed...

How long does a tongue ulcer take to heal?

Thank you. I didn't think the ulcer should still be causing her pain. I'm so upset that there's still an issue, I thought we'd finally got it all figured out. I'll make an appointment in the next couple of days. The only thing that concerns me, is the vet wasn't able to see any sign of the...

How long does a tongue ulcer take to heal?

My bunny had tooth spurs filed down recently. She came to me with the problem, so I have no idea how long she'd been showing signs of pain, but the vet said she had a sizeable ulcer on her tongue from one of the spurs. It's been a week since the procedure, and she's started doing the same sort...

Hardly pooping for days (I'm so worried, would appreciate others thoughts)

Thank you both. I read your replies at the time but forgot to respond with all the stress going on. She had 2.5 days of emeprid (2x per day) and her gut seems to be working just fine now. She was always fine in herself, so I think I needed to be patient. I'm in the process of trying to find a...

Hardly pooping for days (I'm so worried, would appreciate others thoughts)

I would really really like some advice or even just hear other peoples thoughts on this. I'll try to summarise.. I got a rabbit almost a week ago. People that live nearby me were very keen for me to take her, and after seeing the conditions she was in (tiny cage, unhealthy surroundings, no hay)...

    Getting my first angora bunny

Thank you for the recommendations :) Haywards Heath is about an hour away, so I'm hoping to find one closer. I've not got my own car at the moment, so that limits me a bit too. I was considering the Lancing one, but tbh it's still a bit too far. Going to keep calling around. I know how hard it...

    Getting my first angora bunny

It's so funny I just saw this, as I realized this morning (after looking at pictures) that he was probably an English one. Glad to have confirmation, thanks! Honestly I've not thought much about it, but I planned to keep him clipped to minimize any potential issues with him swallowing wool.

How do you find a rabbit groomer/vet?

That's a good idea, thank you! He was given to me by someone who didn't realise how much work rabbits are, so I don't know where he came from originally. I'll have a Google, see who I can find.

How do you find a rabbit groomer/vet?

My new German angora needs to be clipped, and I'm having a really hard time finding someone to do it. I plan to clip him myself in the future, but I'd like to see how it's done, and he won't ever be THIS fluffy again (he has some matted parts too) so I want someone with experience to do it. I...

    Getting my first angora bunny

Thank you 🥰 I live in West Sussex, if anyone has any suggestions for a vet I'd appreciate it. The nearest one to me on the map is too far for me to travel at the moment, as I'm without my own car.

    Getting my first angora bunny

It's not the best picture because my phone hates taking photos in low light, but here he is!

    Getting my first angora bunny

Thank you all for the replies! I'll try to attach a picture of him in a moment. I brought him home this evening and he's such a sweetheart. Hasn't stopped doing binkies! Based on Google I think he's a German Angora. I've not done much research yet, but I think they have to be clipped, but not...

    Getting my first angora bunny

Hi! I've had house bunnies before and like to think I'm pretty knowledgeable, but it's been a few years since I've had one of my own. In the next couple of days I'm adopting a young angora that my friend bought a couple of months ago and soon realized she wasn't equipped to take care of him...
