    I think Freya is obese

I'll look into these pellets. Thanks a bunch JBun. Her fat is spilling over onto her plate 😭

    I think Freya is obese

If this is her source of hay essentially, what can I do?

    I think Freya is obese

I couldn't be more clear that we've tried everything with the hay. She gets fresh hay in the litter box every other day when the whole box is changed out. The hay feeder is simply an addition to her pen. She likes to jump over it and rarely nibbles on a piece. She rearranges the hay in her box...

    I think Freya is obese

Oxbow Essentials Adult Rabbit Food Timothy Hay based, 14% crude protein and 2% crude fat. The Alfalfa stopped when she was somewhere between 6-9 months (can't remember exactly).

    I think Freya is obese

I used to be a bit more active here as I was learning about rabbits as a first time rabbit owner. We've had her since July 2021 (she was born March 2021, we got her from the State Fair). Freya's journey was well documented for the first several months here. If anyone remembers, she had a...

    Freya's new Kingdom

We couldn't give her much before because she didn't have any room. Old vs New. She's having a blast. She really loves the balls; that surprised me a bit. She's had the Chewy box for a year and a half. She's using the castle to hide in a lot, so I'm thinking of finally removing it to open up some...

    Freya is hospitalized

Her eye has made slight improvements. It looks like some color is coming back and there's less discharge. She opens it a little more now. I asked the vet if there's anything else we can do and they said no. Doctors and vets do not like when you tell them what you want and seldom give you what...

    Freya is hospitalized

Freya is now doing very well as far as her post-op from the spay. The area is healing/has healed nicely and she seems to be out of pain, or at least behaves like she's no longer in pain. She's active and eating like her normal self. Her poops are back to normal. The eye, though, is still...

    Freya is hospitalized

I have Ofloxacin Ophthalmic eye drops for her as well as Meloxicam. It sounds like they know what it is but were trying to downplay it and use language to make it seem better. I literally hate these people. It's been a nightmare from day 1. Unfortunately they're my only option in the state. I...

My gorgeous baby was fine before getting into their "care"

    Freya is hospitalized

Freya is home. She still needs a lot of care, but she's in better shape than she was. Except one thing. Saturday night the vet called and said that Freya scratched her eye on hay and it was "a little irritated." Sunday they called again to give an update on her condition and said that her eye...

    Freya is hospitalized

Oh they're absolutely charging right now, but they're my only option and I'm not in a position to fight about it right now. They make you pay first before they do anything.

    Freya is hospitalized

She was finally spayed yesterday morning. All of her pre-op health checks were perfect. She is 4.4lbs (her breed tops out at 4.5lbs), all of her blood work is perfect, her organs are great, etc. The vet is rabbit savvy, with 6 exotic doctors specializing in different things, the only vet in the...

    Argh- rabbits are expensive

$150, give or take, in dog food is about typical per month for a 50lb dog in my experience. Then add treats and chews. Easily $200/month right there with nothing else accounted for. Between all food and litter costs my rabbit accounts for about $200/month as well. I find the "extras" cost more...

    Argh- rabbits are expensive

Hmmm, the difference of opinion might be the plurality - I'm coming from the perspective of just one rabbit, and she's a Mini.

Big changes coming for Freya. Advice needed.

This is the area opened up. Not a bad spot for a Mini I'd say. This is Mr Mave extremely mad about his new circumstances.

Still cheaper than medium and large dogs imo

Big changes coming for Freya. Advice needed.

Yep, I'll get a decent one later. Freya decided to throw a rave and wake me up to...this. Sigh. But there's no doubt that she loves me.

Big changes coming for Freya. Advice needed.

She's totally chill in her new area and pen. She wasn't nervous at all. The cat is more scared of her than she is of him (she's not scared at all). The pen is 48"x48" and expands another 3' when I open the doors and let her roam more freely. I zip tied the old fencing to her new pen to make this...

    thoughts on lennon the bunny

She constantly tells you every way you're wrong and how you're killing your highly killable pet. I've found most things just aren't reality and that nature is tougher than a California YouTube star
