Another Transport: MI to PA (RESOLVED)

Gosh, Haley, I'd help out if you were going to be in my neck of the woods! Even so, I can't help with transport this weekend (we're going to Ann Arbor for a wedding!). I'll keep my eye on this thread though.

    Scone MacBunny

Mike, I just heard the news. I am so, so sorry to hear about Scone. That little guy definitely had a soft spot in my heart! He will be dearly missed by all of us. Rest in peace, Scone MacBunny.

    Sulfur dip treatment for mites?

Pam -- I do agree that his age might have to do with it (which makes me a little sad). I just didn't realize that a relapse was possible. I was hoping the Revolution kicked it. You mentioned Ivermectin cream... I'm not familiar with it. I assume you can buy it a feed store? Is it the one for...

    Sulfur dip treatment for mites?

A bit of background: In December 2008/January 2009 our rabbit Bender was treated for mites. He had dry skin, they did a skin scrape, and I think they said they saw a mite. I can't really remember if they confirmed it or not, but with his dry skin, they wanted to treat him for mites anyway. He...

    I need help with Easter

I make a newsletter each month in Word and use my in-law's computer to turn it into a PDF (my father-in-law has Adobe Writer). If you have experience with Word, you could type something up, insert a few graphics, and then turn it into a nice-looking PDF document. There are some sites online...

New To Bunnies - Lots of questions

I'll add a couple of websites that might be helpful: The Language of Lagomorphs Setting Up Your Bunny's Litterbox (with pics) Getting the bunny spayed should also make litterbox training more successful. Congrats on your new addition!

    Get out your camera

If Sparky and Scooter love APD hay, I'm sure Bender and Lily will! I especially love that APD will donate a $500 gift certificate to the animal shelter/rescue of the winner's choice in addition to the grand prize! Win-win! Now to get some photos of my hay monsters! ;)

    New Rabbit

You've gotten some great follow-up responses. I'll add that it's a good idea to find a rabbit-savvy vet in your area. Better to find one now than scramble to find one in an emergency. You can take him in an for an initial visit to make sure he's healthy and the vet should also be able to...

Did I come off to mean?

Have you already sent it? I don't think it sounds "mean," but maybe a little too aggressive. It also seems a little disjointed and you've got some typos, which may hinder the great info you're trying to offer. If you've already sent it, I wouldn't worry about offending anyone. Hopefully the...

    Scone MacBunny

I see that Mini Rex personality so much in our home too! Love all the pics, as always. I especially love the director's chair photos -- what a great place to snooze! Happy belated birthday, Scone!

    Midas and me :)

Which pet store do you work at, if you don't mind sharing? The only one I can think of that sells rabbits is Jack's Aquarium. I shudder every time I go in there because of the horrible living conditions of the bunnies.

I live in Beavercreek (Dayton area), but our bunnies are from Michigan -- Ann Arbor, no less! ;)

    New Rabbit

Here are some links from the San Diego House Rabbit Society that might be helpful in getting you set up with your new rabbit: -- Rabbit Supply List -- Diet Recommendations -- Setting Up Your Bunny's Litterbox -- Examples of Cage Set-ups And this is a good post about clipping your bunny's nails...

AW man, I spilled lemon and honey tea on the carpet

I'm not sure if the bunnies will be more interested in that area of carpet, but you can try spraying a fine mist of water and vinegar over it to try to mask the sweet smell, if there is any.

Now in serious need of help..

Pipp wrote: I agree with trying to counteract the behavior. When we first got our bunny, Lily, she would lunge and nip to get us out of her way. Unfortunately, she wasn't spayed until we adopted her at 2 years old, which I do think contributed to her initial bossy behavior. To try to...

Pictures from my new camera - the Canon T1i

I got a new SLR camera for Christmas and took my first round of photos today (I know it's March -- I had a couple of delays before I could test out my new toy). The bunnies turned out to be really good subjects, so I thought I would share my favorites here! This is Bender: (The new camera...

    Craigs List users..

Haley -- Looks like someone "revised" your post in A2: "This post, as much as I agree with your over-all goal of discouraging people from buying rabbits as some pet for a child to discard once easter is over, is not all together true. I have been breeding/raising/showing rabbit for 16 yrs now...

    Bunny dandruff

AngelnSnuffy wrote: I looked through the library, but it actually wasn't very helpful in mentioning how to rid the home of fur mites. They all seem to quote the same article about using aboric acid product. I didn't know if there were other remedies out there. I was hoping someone on here...
