    Trimming fussy rabbit nails

After searching the internet for a few days I see a lot of people recommending this video. I have a vet appt for a nail trim this week, but next time I am definitely trying it out. I have one super difficult rabbit and one so-so one, so we'll see how it goes. Wish me luck!

    Trimming fussy rabbit nails

I have a very difficult rabbit and I have no idea how to trim her nails. She hates being picked up, and it's hard to even touch her feet sometimes. All tricks I see are for two people (one restraining and other trimming), but I live alone and don't have anyone around to help.

What do you use for the bottom of your cage

Both rabbits are litter trained, but I'd still prefer something waterproof in case of accidents or water bowl spills. Thanks for the suggestions, I think I'll be looking in to stall mats

What do you use for the bottom of your cage

Right now I'm using interlocking foam mats for the bottom of my rabbit's cage, but I find that urine tends to slip through the cracks to the carpet below, and the material itself absorbs some of the urine as well. What is a good waterproof alternative that doesn't involve building anything? My...

Do you think bell collars are bad for a bun?

It's not worth it especially if it's just to be cute. Rabbits are easily injured, and the collar can snag on something, or they can hurt themselves trying to get it off.

    Please help me

All rabbits will hump regardless of sex. Since they are all unaltered they need to be separated completely. Rabbits are surprisingly territorial, so even if you have females and males separate they will fight and may seriously injure each other. See if there are any rabbit rescues in your area...

How long until rabbit eats after spay

She seems mostly back to normal. Do you know how long I'm supposed to keep her penned up in her cage? I don't want her to run and hurt her incision but I also don't want her to get too bored

    Rabbit pee red!

Rust colored pee is normal for rabbits. It's excess calcium that their body didn't process. Add an image if you want to double check but Jasmine is probably a-ok!

How long until rabbit eats after spay

It's only a few hours away from the 24 hour mark. I've manage to give her water that has pellet mush mixed in, and this morning she ate 3 or 4 strands of hay. I'm hoping when i get home more of the food is gone because she was sniffing at it but seemed unsure. She also left me about 15 normalish...

How long until rabbit eats after spay

The vet called to check up on her today and she said the same. Im so nervous to handle her because she tends to wiggle and kick and I'm worried she'll pop a stitch. Wish me luck tonight

    Grudges?

A lot of the rabbits you see that like to be handled are often that way because they were already handled a lot when they were babies. It's hard to teach an old bun new tricks, and sometimes you're lucky to manage to pick them up at all lol. You can maybe work them up to it by giving them treats...

How long until rabbit eats after spay

I tried to give the meds but she was very uninterested. She drank maybe half and the rest dribbled onto her fur. As for food I found she will drink a water/pellet mush out of the syringe and she had about two full syringes worth. Tried to sneak in some meloxicam but I couldn't trick her. Any...

How long until rabbit eats after spay

ALSO. The vet technician told me to give her her pain meds a few hours after the surgery. With all my other rabbits they told me to wait until the next morning. I don't want her overdosing, but should I give her the meds as directed or wait until morning?

How long until rabbit eats after spay

I gave her cilantro, tangerine, and pellets. Usually she goes nuts for them. I'll keep a close eye on her and if nothing is gone we'll go back to the vet

How long until rabbit eats after spay

I went ahead with my rabbit's spay surgery today since my vet said she seemed lively and healthy. The surgery went fine (though they said she was a major pain and very sassy) and she's been home for four hours now. I'm guessing she's still loopy from the gas, but she isn't touching any food. I...

Lethargic and not eating as much

Thanks for all the info! I had no idea rabbits could take gas drops for babies. She's perked up a bit since I posted and she's been running and binkying, so she seems fine for now. I also ran by the store to get some better quality hay so hopefully she eats more tonight. I'm hoping the odd...

    What breed is my rabbit?

Definitely a mix breed, but perhaps some silver fox in there? I have two and they have the same silver dusting

Lethargic and not eating as much

I know in general this problem is because of tooth spurs and statis, but I wanted to get more info. My rabbit Holiday is a 9 month old unspayed female. She started to mark recently and pick fights with her brother (he's neutered). On the same day she started acting up she also started eating...
