    Water bottle

Any luck with your guy? My girls won't use the bottles either. I've tried taking the bowl out and she still wouldn't touch it. I wouldn't care so much but my big girl loves to dump her water bowl, so either way she's without water until I fill it again since she won't drink from the bottle.

    New rabbits, unsure of behavior.

Yep, bigger = more money because of anesthesia and the amount of meds. Vaccinations are the only things I've seen that don't seem to have a cost difference based on size. The pricing is still ridiculously inflated since anesthesia meds don't cost that much from the manufacturer, but everything...

    New rabbits, unsure of behavior.

Any advice, unsolicited or not, is greatly appreciated. :) So, I found an animal hospital (near me) who says their rabbit spay is "around $200." So I'm assuming it's going to be a bit more for Nyx, since she's huge, but I have them both set up with physicals there at the end of the month. I'm...

    New rabbits, unsure of behavior.

Imbrium: Thank you for all of that. :) I'll start calling around on Monday to see if I can get better spay pricing, my vet wants around $800 just for Nyx and at her current weight. I had no idea that spaying could remove (non-metastatic) cancer. The hormone thing also explains the bi-polar bunny...

    New rabbits, unsure of behavior.

I haven't had a rabbit since I was 14 (I'm 38) and I only had one. I just got Nyx, a 5-month-old Flemish Giant, on September 2nd. I stupidly thought that maybe since she was big she'd get along with my dogs, but immediately my problem dog bit at the carrier when I brought her in. She's 11 pounds...

    Aggressive when being held

So, I know nothing, I just got my girl a few weeks ago. But she's a 5-month-old Flemish Giant and she doesn't like to be held either. She hadn't been handled much prior to my bringing her home, so I'm not sure if that's why, but she hates it. This morning she came when I called her, and she...

    Flemish Giant Rabbit

That's perfect. Thank you guys so much! I'll have to pick up some more litter boxes. Her new "cage" should be here in a few days. It's actually a cat enclosure that is solid wood and mesh and she'll have more room to move. For now I got her a 10-pound bag of Oxbow food, some new wood toys (with...

    Flemish Giant Rabbit

I don't have a freezer that is big enough but even if I waste some it's still cheaper than buying the little bags. Yeah, the only one I bought from the store so far was a wood mat and she hasn't touched it. Thanks for the ideas. :) I haven't actually seen her eat any hay yet, so I'm going to...

    Flemish Giant Rabbit

Thank you! That would be amazing. Right now I'm trying to find toys/wood supplies for her. Can I ask what you did for food? It seems to either be 2.5 pounds or 50 pound bags. I know she's going to get bigger but 50 pounds seems excessive. Right now I have some sort of a large pig bowl as her...

    Flemish Giant Rabbit

So, I don't want to be that person asking all of the stupid questions that are already answered here.... but does anyone else have a hard time finding decent large rabbit supplies? I just brought my girl home on Monday and most of the stuff I find online or off is for teeny bunnies. My rabbit is...
