Is this safe for rabbits ?? Pet store said it was but I have doubts

I responded to a post awhile ago referring to a similar situation. I had had a juvenile doe get caught in between a couple of my bucks and she had a bite that she received from one of the boys that spiraled into a skin tear. As far as topicals go... Vetericyn makes a wonderful spray that I...

Please do check out the links Jbun provided above they speak on this topic very clearly.

    Wet balding chin

Yes veterycin is magic for skin issues...trim the fur down as close to the skin as possible with safety scissors. He likely has a patch of skin breakdown from the water being trapped next to it. I have a Doe that has this issue on her dewlap upon occasion bc she just gets too lazy to clean up...

    11 day hand raised baby

That's definitely a factor. Housing and stress. There's way too many adults to safely raise kits if they're living in what sounds like a colony. They can eat their young purely based off of instinct and for survival as young equates to increased vulnerability to predators. There are some fairly...

They grow so fast! What a perfect lil chonker!!! 🤣🤣🤣 How are he and mama doing now?

Is it ok do buy a baby rabbit, because there aren’t any available for adoption locally?

Ask the questions you need the answers for before committing as well. As a former breeder myself I can say there are a lot of people out there that just have no idea nor do they care. They don't do their research and just figure that the animals will get along because they want them to or...

Can rabbit use tidy cats breeze litter pellets?

Try this if you're concerned with odor. It's a wood based pellet with activated charcoal and very affordable. Literally superb in every single way. I can't sing its praises enough. Less dust than traditional wood pellets as well. Toss inside a high sided cat litter tray or storage tote about 2...

    Babies born 12/23

So like 1/3 of your hay mix being Alfalfa to 2/3 timothy

The hay itself you can blend in a couple of handfuls and it should be fine. You can also supplement with black oil sunflower seeds like a tbsp of those for nursing does. If going the pellet route I'd do the same amount additionally blended into her regular pellets. Oxbow sells a young rabbit...

    Babies born 12/23

Yup just offering a suggestion based off my personal experience. I don't do the hay swapping as you can have issues with them not wanting to switch to timothy later on because the taste is unpalatable to them. Just depends on the bun(s). I've had several I struggled with after they matured that...

    Babies born 12/23

I use timothy hay pretty exclusively. Easier to supplement with an alfafa based pellet and you can blend those into their regular feed and control amounts. Alfalfa hay is sweeter so she can smell the difference. It has a higher calcium content good for young rabbits in helping build strong...

I don’t know what to do

4-5cc's for newborns of milk so try and aim for that. Your feeding syringe should have amounts marked on the side. I go in 1 cc increments when I have a weakened kit to be able to keep the rest of the milk warm during the feeding process. So just count your refills.

I don’t know what to do

Also make sure you're stimulating potting time directly after feedings. A cotton swab, cotton ball, soft cloth, clean fingertip, (whichever you choose), + warm water, over the sink...Gentle front to back swiping motions over and around the kits genitals - like if your bun was giving you kisses...

I don’t know what to do

Yes Jbun is spot on. Also don't be afraid to cradle the kit in your hand and turn the kit over to look at its belly. Belly wrinkles equal not full. If hand feeding you will want to check on the kit a couple of times throughout the day. Sometimes it's it's struggle to get them to latch initially...

I don’t know what to do

Either goats milk or kitten milk replacer can be found at most local grocery stores as well as a tiny syringe without the needle tip (sometimes you can ask a pharmacy technician if they have one you can get for free to administer liquid medications) or able to be fitted with an extremely small...

I don’t know what to do

I've had to check Does from time to time to check for blocked milk ducts. Rub her belly to make sure she doesn't have any lumps that shouldn't be there. You can also put her in the nest box and adjust the kits so they can latch. First thing in the morning or very late at night is generally best...
